Title: Friday night before the con
Post by: Scramble on August 05, 2012, 05:33:34 PM: I'll be staying at the con hotel Friday night this year. I might only arrive around midnight, however. Any late night activities planned?

Last year, a number of us got together at Jack Astor's for dinner/drinks after the dealer room closed on Friday night. From the 2011 video recently posted, it looks like a number of folks got together at Montana Cookhouse as well (couldn't tell if that was on Friday night or Saturday night). It would be cool to choose a place/restaurant for veteran and new JoeCanuck members to chill out together after the convention activities.

We seem to have ideas/plans ranging from Wendy's to pizza (lobby/Boston Pizza) to the hotel restaurant. Should I assume that everyone is doing their own thing on Friday night? Or are we going to get together on the fly? Just trying to figure out whether I need to make my own plans for Friday night.

I think Jack Astor's went off really well last year. There was maybe 8-10 of us there. If we could double it this year that'd be sweet. Unless someone has something official planned, I will officially drop the gauntlet down and lead a contingent across the street to Jack's after the show floor closes.

But even after that, the hotel lobby and bar have plenty of space to chill if no one wants to go out to eat.
