All Across Canada / Zellers Clearance Sale on G.I. Joe

New thread as I don't see one on this topic.

I was at a local Zellers today (Lansdowne Mall, Richmond)

Completely on a whim (there was nothing marked about any deals) I scaned one of the Target ROC SNAKE Armors. While it had the clearance $22.97 sticker on it, to my surprise it scanned as $9.95.

I quickly went and grabbed a Dusty (only fig there I didn't already have 1 or more of), scaned it and he was $2 off as well.

On that note I grabbed a RHINO (still marked at $49.99), and sure enough $19.99.

So I grabbed all 3 pieces. ;D

The scanner just said sale, so I figured this is a store-wide deal. Anyone who like me has held out on the RHINO might want to check your locals.

Customs / Quick and rough Red Shadow Armadillo custom

Last week I found a Steeler/Serpentor 25th pack at a local London Drugs for $11.00. I joked with a buddy, that I should get it and turn the Armadillo into a Cobra vehicle. So I thought what the hell.

Once I opened it up and started dissembling it, I just didn't feel into it, so instead I grabbed the left over spray cans from my Hyena Custom, and gave it a rough basic shadow red/black coat. Coupled with a quick gundam marker hit on some spare parts for a driver and the result stands at:






So next time I have a bit of time to clean it up, i'll try to clean up some of the paint, touch up the areas where the old color comes thru, and hit it with some Shadow markings.

Until then, it will have to survive against GICobra's Nok Squad.

Customs / Ice Dagger Conversion Attempt.

I am about to start my largest conversion project to date.

While I personally haven't cared about the Ice Dagger to get one, I bought one on a whim seeing wal*mart is clearing them for $10. The plan is to use it as an update for the Red Shadow Hyena. While I'm not planning on altering it, I will be taking it apart to give it a better paint application.

Before I start however I am just wondering if anyone else has tried take one apart and if so, is there anything I should be careful with? (ie: I don't want to mess up the turret assembly.)

I'll try to update here in case anyone is interested, and/or has anything to comment on this project.

General Joe Talk / Could Cobra Commander Mail away go to Canadian retail?

It would appear with this post at cybertron.ca that the 2010 Transformer Mail-away that was resticted to US address only, will actually be sold in Canada as a TRU exclusive.

Could this mean that the Pursuit of Cobra special Cobra Commander figure may also become a Canadian TRU exclusive? Might be worth wasting a question on the next round to inquire about.

General Joe Talk / Movie Flint & Lady Jaye?

Just wondering if anyone has heard anything official, but is there a reason Hasbro is ignoring Flint and Jaye with the movie toys?

I know they aren't in the movie and that helps explain the lack of toys for them right now, But I didn't notice them in any of the previews for the 2010 Pursuit line either.

I thought at first maybe Flint was being skipped for now because on the Stone figure, but seeing that by 2010 we'll have had about 5 Scarletts, Cover-girl, the new Agent Helix and even the Resolute Dial-Tone popping up in a TRU exclusive and no word on Jaye just stood out that she's MIA.

I'm just wondering as it seems that we received the first waves about the same time as the states but in my travels we don't seem to be getting anywhere near the number of figures available stateside right now.

Has Hasbro Canada stated if we are suppose to get everything and the retailers are being as slow as they usually are? Or is it better to start buying online for some of them before the harder to find units are sold out down there?

Started back on Joe's (well cobra really) a few months back and thought I'd connect with the other Canadians.
