Here's to revive my thread: First is my vintage Star Wars action figure collection. including some characters like Jabba and Sy Snootles & the Rebo band that were not part of the carded figure regular run.
Second is my newly acquired Gi joe Sgt. Savage collection as requested by Bandonov (I'll post some close-ups soon). I picked up this lot from Jeremy Thorp at 2011 Canjoecon, thanks to Snowhawk who put me in touch with him, for the Warhawk plane (forgot to include it in the pic). I just saw the 30 minute short movie on Youtube that came with one of the Sgt. Savage figures. It's called "Old Soldiers Never die". All I can say is: this short movie is really really good if you look at what's been put out there in terms of storytelling back in the days. It made me wish they put out more product and that the line didn't end after only one year.
Third and picture after that, is a lot of 31 ALIENS vs PREDATOR figures that were made in the 90's and up by Kenner. I acquired it from Condorknight at the 2011 Canjoecon. This is one of my favorite toylines ever. Beeing a fan of the Aliens franchise, I remember beeing somewhat disappointed when the ALIENS toyline was released back in 92, especially with what they did with the Marines characters. I then learned a few years later the line had expanded to included the Predators. Kenner/Hasbro had some great ideas planned for this line, but alas that never happened except in the early prototype stages. One great idea that made it into plastic form became the one we know as the Queen Hive Playset. The playset is accurately scaled and to me overall beats the huge Queen Alien that McFarlane did in the same decade, but that's just the "action" figure toy fan in me who is talking. BTW, most of the figures in this lot were complete except for the two figures. One is the Ambush Predator, which strangely, I still kept the accessories for it when I originally parted with mine years ago. The other is the ATAX (it's a human dressed up in a Xenomorph armor, as you can see him on the top right in the last pic). He was missing the missile on his Alien armor helmet, and lucky for me, I had an extra one. In other words, this lot is was a match in heaven for me.
Just to show you how movie accurate ans awesome the Queen Alien is, I displayed her with my Ripley figure and her Power Loader vehicle.
Enjoy!
