They also have some info on this years guests. The first one they have is Neil Ross. He was the voice actor of Dusty, Buzzer, Monkey wrench, Wong ans Shipwreck. I'd love to get his autograph on my box set. There is a Shipwreck disc in that set. So far I have Zartan and Baroness autographed.  :)

All Across Canada / Zellers now at 50 - 70 % off
« on: May 14, 2012, 04:19:22 PM »
http://www.zellers.com/liquidation/en/default.aspx

This last week they hit 50% off so now might be a good time to load up if you want to army build, customize or have any little Joe fans in your life.

This week alone I saw probably about 50 of those target exclusive rescue mission sets down to $15 each. Those things are still filling the shelves and $15 for 4 figures isn't a bad price. Personally I'm going to see if I can hold out for 70% off and buy more.

That blue neo viper would make a great base for a group project custom figure.  The Duke would be pretty easy to work with as well.

Off Topic / Impact wrestling coming to Hamilton June 24th
« on: May 07, 2012, 03:39:58 PM »
Quote
Hamilton, ONT will host the IMPACT WRESTLING World Tour on Sunday, June 24 at the Hamilton Convention Centre at 6:00pm. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 11 at http://ticketmaster.ca and charge by phone at 855-872-5000. Fans that purchase a $50 ticket will receive a special meet and greet with IMPACT WRESTLING Superstars at 4:00pm (redeemable with ticket the night of the show).

Appearing live and in person will be Bobby Roode, Kurt Angle, AJ Styles, the Knockouts and more!

$50? I can swing $50 for good seats. Personally I enjoy Impact wrestlers more then WWE anyhow. Sure there going to always be exceptions to that rule but in general Impact puts on a better WRESTLING show. WWE does better Sports Entertainment.

I wonder if Dalton is old enough. He's almost 6. Wish me luck in convincing my wife on this one.  ;D

All Across Canada / Amazon 4 packs back in stock
« on: May 04, 2012, 01:37:27 PM »
Amazon.com  (NOT .ca) has two 4 packs out right now. They were sold out at first but I was just able to place an order for one of each.

After taxes and duty it cost me just over $102 for 8 figures. That's a bit more then I like to spend but these might be in short supply.

http://www.amazon.com/G-I-Joe-Sneak-Peek-Figure/dp/B007COCLSQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1336152826&sr=8-1

I should get mine between May 17 - 30th.

Get them while you can.  ;)

General Joe Talk / Movie figures.
« on: April 26, 2012, 09:01:52 AM »
Not sure if this helps anyone or not but I have the March issue of the G.I. Joe Collectors Club magazine and that lists the wave 2 - 4 figures but doesn't say how many figures or what fillers will be in each wave.

Wave 2: Firefly (looks uber cool), Flint and Snake Eyes.
Wave 3: Alley Viper, Dragon Ninja, Joe Colton, Cyber Ninja, Lady Jaye
Wave 4: Blind Master, Kim Arashikage (both look very nice).

What I'd like to know is the case breakdown on wave 4. For me it would be perfect if wave 4 had all of waves 2 and 3 but I doubt that will happen.

Off Topic / WrestleMania
« on: March 31, 2012, 09:27:37 AM »
WrestleMania is tomorrow and while my interest in wrestling has diminished over they years it's still fun to talk about from time to time. I honestly find more interest in what goes on back stage now.

That being said, this years card is OK but I'm not totally blown away.

Rock vs Cena. If WWE is smart Cena will win and Rock will loose with style. No swerve should be in this match as it's billed as "once in a life time". If there is a swerve and a rematch then any credibility the story writes had is gone.

CM Punk vs Jericho should be the best match of the night. In order for the stories to move forward CM Punk needs to loose the belt. If he wins it will kill any chance of building Jericho back up and CM Punk will remain relevant for a while I think. Besides, if he doesn't like his character direction he can always go back to TNA or ROH but to be honest, after watching a few weeks of ROH I don't see him ever going back there. I heard of the company but after watching them they really come across as a micky mouse company. I want the to do well but they have a loooong way to go.

Back on subject, Daniel Bryans vs Shamus. This could be the wild card match of the night. Shamus should win the match but it feels like things are just starting to really pick up with Bryan being a heel so I going with Bryan for the win.

Team Teddy vs Team Johnny. This is a filler match IMO. I really don't care either way as I don't think this match will have any relevance in six months. WWE gave us a "happy moment" at Christmas when CM Punk, a face Daniel Bryan and US Champ Zack Ryder were all in the ring together. Now it's time to pay for that happy moment and make it a year for the heels. Team Johnny wins.

Randy Orton vs Kane. Another match I don't care about. It feels like management wanted to keep Orton on the card and with Barret on the side lines they gave him Kane to feud with. Poor Kane got a cool make over only to become the punching bag to the top faces. Not all matches can be won by the bad guys, so Orton wins.

Womens match, they got some celebrity teaming up with Kelly Kelly so the faces win. Maybe some help from Trish Stratus or some returning female. That or Awesome Kong makes her return after the match and takes out everyone.

Rhodes vs Big Show. I think the WWE wants Rhodes to break all records for longest IC champ so Rhoses wins. If I'm right, currently Honky Tonk man is the longest IC champ and I think they want to erase that from the record books so Rhodes will keep his title for at least 14 months (64 weeks is Honky Tonks rein).

Tag Titles triple threat, errr, I really don't care. I imagine the titles stay right where they are.

HHH vs Undertaker (part 3). This is the big match it seems. Neither of these guys is playing heel so all the rules are out the window. Will Undertakers streak end? I hope not. What would it benefit the WWE to have HHH end the streak? All it would do would be bragging rights for HHH and honestly, he doesn't need it. Everyone knows he is the future boss. Sure he can still wrestle and he is a good wrestler but there is nothing new about what he does. It's the same old thing and he doesn't need the push. I think the Undertaker will win due to outside interference, and not by his choice. A-Train has resigned with the company and is a big man. A good angle would have him help Undertaker win just so that next year he can be the guy that ends the streak. Or what about Brock Lesnar? He is retired from UFC due to health issues but still wants to compete. Enough time has passed since his time with the WWE. He could probably get a reduced schedule deal that so many of the old timers get. There is also a rumour that Batista is in town. Any one of those guys would be good to ruin this match.

That or any one of those three big men I mentioned could get involved in the Team Johnny vs Team Teddy match and help team Teddy win.

At the end of the night I'm guessing all the heels have the belts and the Undertakers streak lives on. That and HHH gets mad at Shawn Micheals after he looses.

I got a big bag full of wrestling action figures. Mostly WCW, some WWF and even Tommy Dreamer from ECW. Looks like about 37 figures plus a couple of guys that don't really move.

This os from the Attitude / NWO era.

Can't remember what Kurt Angle looked like with hair? I got ya covered.

Want to see the lamest action feature ever made? Look no further then Dimond Dallas Page with "Diamond Cutter" action. Say what you want about DDP but that man could wrestle and where do you think Randy Orton's RKO came from?

Need a crazed looking Rowdy Roddy Piper in a kilt and "reality check" T-shirt? Done deal.

How about probably the prettiest version of Bret Hart you've ever seen and HUGE hands. We got that.

Anyone want to trade me for this lot? All reasonable offers will be considered. This is the whole lot. I'm NOT going to break up the lot unless you've got something really good for trade.

Kitty cat keyboard not included.  ;)

It's the photo (not art work) of Shiver.

I have a bunch of 1 and 3 if anyone wants to trade.

Can anyone hook a brother up?

Customs / Customizing tips
« on: February 17, 2012, 12:24:26 PM »
I've been doing a lot more detailed custom work as of late with 25th / 30th anniversary stuff lately and learned a few thing along the way. Maybe some of this is common, some of it is not but it might help.

Splitting the torso on a modern G.I. Joe figure can be tricky. I've sliced up my hand a lot lately working on getting bodies apart. I was taking a box cutter knife and following the seems all around the figure trying to pry them apart.

A few days ago I had a breakthrough. Boiling hot water is your friend. I've used hot water for arm swapping for a while now. Look at Captain Ruin and Traceroute from last years set for an example, but I never used it to separate the bodies. What I found was soaking a body in hot water for 30 - 60 seconds really makes it much easier. Once soaked take your box cutting knife and slit up from the rib cage to the arm pit on each side. Insert a small flat blade screwdriver in the gaps (while the plastic is still hot / warm) and give it a gentle twist. The body pop apart very easily. What took me many cuts and over 1/2 hour I can now do in minuets and with practice probably seconds now.

You'll notice I said Box Cutting knife and not exacto knife. Exacto knifes are sharper and fine to work with but I have learned to prefer the wider blade of the standard disposable box cutter. The wider blade is easier to work with.

Anyone else with tips, please add to this thread.
