Yeah, he came out during the "transitional" wave from ROC to POC (ROC packaging, but with mentions of the different scenarios).

Awesome figure. A bit excessive on the bladed weapons but the paintjob and gear choice otherwise make it kick some major amounts of buttocks nonetheless.
The Elite and Desert Vipers were easily my favorite army builders of the ROC era.

It's about time... I know Zellers has a big name in Canada, but the stores have fallen from grace long time ago.  I would totally support the store if they changed the name back to Towers and Bonimart!  So Welcome Target.
Yes, well... Will a mere name change suffice to get the employees to take better care of the toy section? :p

Wow. Sorry Redmao, but the 2008 Universe line has pretty much cleared shelves aside from a few Silverbolts at some Zellers. Acid Storm is sadly long gone, which is sadly to be expected from a two-year old toy these days.
([old man voice]I remember back in the mid-90s I could still walk into a store and find an X-Men figure originally released two years prior. Or an older Beast Wars figure. Stupid things today changing.[/old man voice])

EDIT: Have you tried Legends or Toys On Fire? Honestly that'd be your best bet.

Interesting.

The event itself...or the admission fee?
Hahahaha.

Both, actually.

LJ22, good stuff, glad you found one!

Jay, I don't remember them all, but here's what I do remember:
- Resolute Snake-Eyes (city strike)
- Jungle Wayans brother
- Hauser with blue pants and a sword (  ??? )
- "Cookies & Cream" Stormshadow
- Wave 1 Stormshadow
- Unmasked Stormshadow (Paris version, I think)
- "Cobra Commander"
- Ice-Viper
- Desert-Viper
- Wave 1 Snake-Eyes
- Paris Snake-Eyes
- some male armoured figures

No female characters, no Hawks, no Helixes, none of the metallic red Cobra guys, and none of the figures LJ22 mentioned a while back.
Curses, no Nano-Viper.

Hope you feel better soon, Jay!

Brossard TRU restocked their $2.98 Joe bin, but none of the figure LJ22's looking for were in there. :-[
What did they have?

Can't answer for TF, but Toybiz's early toys still retain popularity with some collectors. You're making it sound as if collectors don't want them at all. My friend who collects vintage to newer stuff had some at the show, along with Kenner's super powers.
Okay, but the person who I gave my wants list to wasn't interested in those toys for themselves.

Huh, drat. Looks like I gave my wants list to the wrong people.

The person who went there with my list said he saw little that wasn't new stuff. (granted, my wants list didn't have any Joes on them, just a Transformer from 2002 and a few DC toys from 1989/1990)

Maybe the people you give your wants list kept all the good findings to themselves  ::)
Why would they keep Tidal Wave or ToyBiz's Superman, Batman and Green Lantern to themselves?

Seriously if you had a surgery and still have pain when you walk, that's a sign to stay home and take some rest. It is not worth to sacrifice your full recovery just to go out for the thrill of the Joe hunt. Your health might take a hit, especially if you don't recover well, and you won't know it until many years from now.
No, no. This isn't a "Ow it hurts to walk and I can barely handle the pain for that trip", it's more of a "I'm fine to go out but if I get TOO active it starts to hurt a little, I need to get back to resting up". The trip to Zellers was a calculated risk but I figured at least it's in a mall with lots of sofas so if it starts to hurt I can sit down till I feel better, and then go straight back home.

Plus, a trip out to St-Laurent requires public transit and since the surgery I've been feeling a little bit of motion sickness when I'm in cars... so shaky subway trains and crowded buses are kind of out of the question.

You sound rather in good shape for someone who could barely handle a trip to his local Walmart... ;D or to the Toycon  >:(

EDIT: But I could understand that it could be more a matter of priorities so I'll spit out that Timbit of yours I was eating and put it back into your  fridge .
Well, there's a difference between a long trip out to St-Laurent in crowded public transit and a brief trip to a store that's within walking distance of home. (Plus the Zellers isn't exactly far away from the Walmart, and it's the first day I made it that far)
