Boy this post quickly became the how big is my driveway post.  I was real glad when I moved from my last house with the 5 car driveway to this house which can only fit 2 cars in the driveway.  I would rather mow a bigger lawn than shovel a bigger driveway.

I think I had about 2 cm of snow in the past month, but I think that was to make up for the 2 weeks of -30 and -40 weather.

I have a walkway about five meters long, and then a bunch of stairs up to my apartment. Clearing my snow is a pretty easy job, leaving me plenty of strength to push stuck cars out of snow banks on my walk to work.

Actually it was the plow in mess at the end of the driveway that was the was the most difficult to deal with. I think I could have handled the rest without the need for strong medications if the plow hadn't put a wall of ice at the end of my driveway.

:chicken:

Different story.  I can sympathise as I hate dealing with crap the plow leaves behind.  It took me almost an hour to clean up that ice and snow slurry that the plow left behind last night.  It usually doesn't take that long but number of numb nuts that drove up and down my street today just made the slurry even worse.  Can't people just stay the fuck home and chill out instead.  Nope, instead I read online via CTV there were 500 accidents in the Toronto area and the typical Toronto bashing that goes with the news story.

For once the snow belt didn't get the brunt of it - we likely got about 15-20cm though.

And yeah, most people should just stay home.......

We got a metric assload here. Took me almost 2 hours to shovel yesterday - then it snowed again

Fortunately, my brother in-law decided to be kind and came by with his snowblower this am and cleaned me out.

The weather network said Ottawa got 41 cms, followed by Waterloo at 40 cms. For those who don't know, I'm in K-W. I cleaned yesterday and then just spent 2 hours this morning and I had a lady from across the street with a snow plow help. Plus I'm getting a new window put in tomorrow and holes drilled in the outside walls for retrofoam so I had to shovel the garden and move the snow from the outside wall as well as leave a path for the guys to work.

Well at least it's not going while the work is being done.

Well that could have been worse. No plow yet, and the blowing snow hit the giant piles of snow already on my lawn greating a fortress of solitude in front of my house.

That sheltered the driveway somewhat, cutting the job down to about half an hour. Yay!

Nobody has mentioned the other fun side of lots of snow: roof raking.  It looks like a house in Ottawa has had its roof fail due to snow and possible renovation issues.

One grocery store here a few years back had a roof collapse.  This one was likely due to a renovation as well.

The fun part is pulling the snow off the roof and then shoveling what falls on the driveway.

Well, the snow didn't kill me - but the car that was speeding around the corner of a 12 foot tall snowbank nearly did. Stupid people should stay home when it snows.

Good to see Charles is alive.  For a minute there I though he would on his back with both hands and feet in the air and assuming the death position after the ninth major storm of the winter season.   :shifty:

Well, for people that wanted winter, you got it.  Man, I can't wait for it to be over as this snow is interferring with my building inspections.

Actually it really hit today. If I didn't have to be at work today, I'd be at home in the fetal position crying. Getting out of the car is murder.

I have to go look for drugs now.
