Yearly CanJoeCon Discussion / Next Joe Meet Date?
« on: May 05, 2004, 12:46:08 PM »
While I'm still not sure if my contract here will be extended to let me keep my job past June 9th, my boos seems confident this will happen.  So with that in mind I got asked today when I would want to take vacation time over the summer, assuming I am permitted by the government to stay in my current job.

Either way this would be the best time for me to travel and do stuff.  So c'mon everybody, chime in!  Even if everybody agrees August would be a bad time, that would at least help me plan my vacation schedule.   :D

Thanks!

Don't worry about scaring me off...I'm not goin' anywhere. (There's more of us in the Maritimes than you think. I know several Joe collectors where I used to live...in the Halifax area.)

You should get them over here then!  :D  As for the 12" Joes, I saw them here today as well on the lunch hour.  Not too shabby for 12" figures, which I generally am not a big fan of.

August would be a good month for me, at least I hope...

I could probably swing funds to make my way west by then.  I could certainly get as far west as Montreal without spending a dime, since my brother's the best there is and would drive all the way here, pick me up, and take me that far!  He's the reason I got into Joes in the first place, this is just further proof as to why he rocks.   :D

But, er, anyway, yeah sometime in August would be good.  I'd really like to meet y'all.

Off Topic / Why too many different names on too many boards suck!!!
« on: April 28, 2004, 12:43:34 PM »
I've definitely gone through a wide assortment of online aliases, but I've trimmed them down to just two.  One is for an e-mail account used in my RPG, another for all other internet purposes, the name you see here.   :D

I used so many because I've acquired quite a few nicknames over time.  I just liked sharing them with the world...

General Joe Talk / how many of your childhood joes survived...
« on: April 28, 2004, 08:47:57 AM »
I have over time replaced several slightly broken ones with better-conditioned figures, but only 5 of my actual childhood Joes were lost or totally destroyed.  When I get a replacement figure, I take each individual part and compare it, making sure to frankenstein together the most pristine possible specimen.  Man I'm a nerd....

Overall, I think I've only replaced about 25, and my Joe collection is about 650 *different* figures.  I don't army build or have duplicates of anything.  I'm weird like that.  I was also very attentive to my toys' condition as a kid, since my brother always made sure I played nice as his Joes were often involved.   :D  So I have him to thank for the condition of my toys from younger days.

While I may be struck down by BHM for this, if anybody *needs* points, I have a few hundred I could spare for a future offer.

Marvel Legends are easy to find around here, and I keep up with them fairly well, given my financial situation.  Just picked up Beast & Punisher yesterday...

I managed to snag an extra Viper & Alley Viper II pack last night, and I would like to trade it straight up for ANY wave 8 2-pack or ANY wave 7.75 2-pack except Wild Bill & Roadblock.

PM me if you can help.

Wow, I was in for the shock of my life when I discovered this place existed.

Then, like 12 hours later, I was a moderator.

If that's not typically Canadian friendliness, I don't know what isn't.

So anyway, hello to you all!  I am the same Squishy Duck Man from the Joecustoms board, also known as Sidewinder to the one Joe mailing list I'm on.  Why?  Because I've gone through so many internet ID's, it's just easier...
