NFLD, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, P.E.I. / 12" new Joes
« on: April 02, 2004, 10:21:35 PM »
I was at a Wal-Mart in Moncton, NB, today and I saw for the first time two 12" Joes from the Venom and Valor line I believe. I don't know who all is released but they had Roadblock and a BAT trooper. No Idea of price...they looked like they had just been put out and I was running late for work or I'd have asked.

General Joe Talk / a classic: Who were your first joe and vehicule.
« on: March 31, 2004, 05:01:23 PM »
First Joe was Rock 'n Roll and first Vehicle was the FLAK. Rock 'n Roll was a US version as I was on vacation in Maine at the time. I was among the first of my friends with one because they hadn't shown in Canada at that point in 1982. I saw all the v1 releases and picked up R&R because of the crossed ammo on his chest...to me at 11 years old it just said Army!

I still have that Rock 'n Roll (he's on at least his second o-ring though) and I still have the American filecard (the all English one.)

JvsC wave 1 appeared here very quickly after it first appeared in the states, vehicles included.

Nothing ELSE arrived here untilI saw some of the Mission Disks this past December.  Oh wait, that was while I was in Quebec......

Hrm.  It appears that over the last two years, wave 1 and this value pack are all I've seen locally.

The most unique thing I saw released here was the Toys 'R Us in Halifax, NS, somehow got a case of 6 of the Night Rhino. I was under the impression it was a US TRU exclusive. Anyhoo,  a friend in Halifax picked one up for me...One of the best Joe vehicles I've gotten in recent years.

I have several old toys...er...collectibles in my possession. See I'm something of a PAC-RAT in that I have trouble throwing things away. I still have most of my old Star Wars figures and nearly all of their weapons. I have at least a Draconian Guard from the Buck Rogers line, I still have a few Battlestar Galactica figures. I don't have any Black Hole figures, but I did score unopened model kits of the Cygnus and Maximillian last summer at a flea market! I still have a Star Trek I figure of Ilia from '79. A couple of figures from Clash of the Titans. Sadly, I have none of my old figures from Micronauts...they were great!

Hi there, fellow Joe Canucks! I was invited to sign up from over on the YoJoe boards under the same name as I have here, so here I am!

Hmmm...a little about myself....

I've been around since 3 3/4" Joe started in '82. My first figure was Rock 'n Roll and my first vehicle/accessory was the FLAK.

The last thing I got was the new '04 Night Force 6-pack, which, as a Canadian, I'm sure you know how tough that is to come by. So I haven't really stopped buying Joes, nor has the interest waned. I don't have as many vehicles as I once had, but I have hundreds of figures.

I'm also into Transformers, Star Trek and Star Wars, and many other 80s topics. I'm a avid scale modeler and an amateur graphic artist.

Well, that's enough about me for now...I'm sure you'll learn more over time!
