November 8th - 10th. Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Comics, Toys, Cards!!!

Special guest... Bill D. Williams ( Lando ) Among many other's!

Last year they had Larry Hamma. Im working on getting a signed variant/convention only, comic by him from last years convention. Its only gonna cost me a marvel legends 2 pack and a reprint Frank Miller dark night returns hard cover. Does this sound like a good deal to anybody out there...?

Will any of you be in attendence...?

Halcon was a bust.
8000 people to attend.
Fire marshalles showed up.
Building capacity 4400.
1500 people stood outside in the cold for 3hrs waiting to get in.
Anouncement was made that they would not be able to get in, and refunds where not available.
Anoucement #2. Refunds where going to be given.
1500 people stood in line ( again ) for another 2 hrs in the cold for there refund.

The only good thing about this is,
 Its nice to see such a big turn out for comics, gaming, action figures and just sci-fi stuff in general in this region.

First year 1500 people attended. ( all weekend )

Second year 3800. ( all weekend )

This year an estimated 8000 ( over the course all weekend ).

I think it may just have caught the Halcon organizers off guard when 8000 showed up the first day !

If your a local its not so bad. Get your refund, hop on a bus for 20 min. and go home.

The people that got the real " OUCH " Was the people that put gas in there cars, drove 2 or 3 hours, took time of work, booked a hotel room + waited in the cold. Not good, Not good....

Is it me or are these type of conventions gaining in massive popularity year to year. I was just at the mid canada comic convention here in Winnipeg and the line up was like three buildings away. I think every year somethings just catches the organizers off guard. Or maybe I don't know what I'm talking about :)
Anyways, I hope people will give it another chance next year.
