General Joe Talk / Re: Thoughts on Classified and Retro lines?

Oh man the anticipation is growing.   SDCC is a less than a week away and the reveal of the Haslab (Rattler?), plus any new figures/vehicles.

Also the link is now up for the Walmart Collector Con NF Falcon and Quarrel 2-pack.   Of course it is showing out of stock right now, but should go live on the 24th.

Oh and I got my Gnawgahyde delivered today.   I was able to snag him during the price error on Walmart.ca ($35+tax).   He is a great figure in person, even better than I thought from the pics.

Here's hoping you can make it work again.

Of course it is all dependent on time and location for me.   It's funny to think the last time you ran this I was in Toronto.  Now I'm in Ottawa so it will be much trickier to attend as either a vendor or attendee.   Plus I don't have anywhere near the Joe product I used to that I would be willing to sell.

So "The Full Force" Podcast had a bunch of reveals from JoeFest (thanks to Brian Flynn) earlier than everyone else.

Looks like the O-Ring line will be called ReActionO  (the O will have a + in the middle, supposedly representing O-ring with the screws).

The first releases are:  Snake-Eyes (v2 in black w/silver mask), Sunbow accurate Cobra Commander, Cover Girl (long blond hair) and BAT (blue, comic look like the Ultimate version).  Then the big reveal.......the Crimson Twins in their business suits!!!!!   In the retro packaging and they will be a Target exclusive so they should be made in great quantities.

Also they revealed a cool repaint of the Super Cyborg SNAKE Armour they did, this time in red, with a red shadow and called the Escape Armour (with accurate English spelling).   Not for me, especially because it is more in line with Ultimates scale.

So not a bad start, now bring on the vehicles!!!

Sad to hear about Sharknews as I didn't think there was anything wrong with that channel, from what little I had seen.

Good riddance to Viper Island.   Unfortunately he'll probably pop back up in a couple months after everything dies down.  However he got what he deserved for his shitty practices.   The definition of you get what you give.

I'm going to try and preorder in store at Gamestop today.   With the Edge discount it should be a bit cheaper than everyone else. (and it's sold out online at Gamestop).

Just a reminder that today the Stinger, MM Sgt. Slaughter and MM Low-Light/Spirit have gone up for preorder.

Stinger is available in lots of places, but already sold out at some of them.

Sgt. Slaughter should stick around for a long while.

The Low-Light/Spirit 2-pack is a Pulse exclusive so only available through them.

Oh and if you watched the Stinger unboxing today you would already know that Lenny unveil the Nemesis Immortal in package!!!!   He is a BEAST!!!!!  Incredible, can't wait to order him.

Man is this thing just cruising along.

Almost $2,220,000US  (over $3 million Canadian) on a goal of $50,000US.

17 stretch goals unlocked and 11 days to go.

WOW!!!

Joe fans really came out for this.

Up next will have to be the rest of the ARAH (Hama) run through IDW onwards (#300) as the second compendium set.   I'm sure they are also looking at at Transformers one as well.

Anyone else get a "shipping soon" notice from Pulse for the Ferret?

Can't wait.

Also just got in Mutt and Junkyard, along with a second Trouble Bubble from the Pulse sale (35% off as a Premium member).   Man Mutt and Junkyard are really great.   Can't wait for Gnawgahyde so I can put him against M&J in the display.

It might still be the Rattler because that plane will be huge, in fact, too big for me. Imagine the wings to be as long as the total lengt of the plane.

Yeah probably the biggest hint to date was the T-shirt B-Mac (marketing guy replacing Emily) was wearing during the live stream.  It was the Rattler logo which, again, may be a huge hint.   We'll know in just over a month.

Also I broke my no preorder rule again.   I just loved the IG and IG BAT so I had to get in on them right away.  Just one of each, but when they finally hit later this year I'll probably get at least one more of each.  Alpine and Storm Shadow are easy to wait on because they won't sell out anywhere most likely.   The Stinger I'll have to preorder just because.  Same with Retro Cobra Commander.   Trooper and Stalker should be easy to wait on, though maybe not the Trooper.

So overall not too many surprises, but what was shown was still great.

Next mainline wave is great as we had already seen from the leaks.  However I really love how they did some mixing and matching with the IG BAT and IG to give us some fun looks.   Definitely like the IG more after seeing it than with the pics.

STINGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Man the in hand reveal just takes it to another level.  All the little details look great.  I'm surprised they didn't talk about the ground blast effects.   I will say I am a bit disappointed with the blast effects on the missiles.  They seem to be too heavy and you could see the missiles with them not sitting evenly with the other missiles.

The Retro wave was mostly as expected.  Love the vac metal CC with the more cartoon colours.  Great way to add extra variation from the HISS version.  Trooper already seen.  STALKER!!  We knew he had to be coming sometime, but nice to see.  Looks good for what it is and will do nicely.

MM Slaughter is as expected and the "itty bitty ditty bag" looks great.   Low-Light and Spirit also look good.   Now BBQ has some more teammates.

Loved the digital renders.  Dialtone looks great, though it is funny to include a cellphone with him while still giving him that unwieldy pack.   SAW Viper looks good except for the helmet.  It looks off to me for some reason.  Glad to know it can come off.

Footloose name only reveal is nice as well.

Interesting to hear that the Haslab is going to be at SDCC this year instead of Yo Joe June.  Looks like Hasbro is finally giving Joe a bit more credit after a couple of great years.   The only thing about it being at SDCC is could it be something a bit bigger than a Rattler???  High profile event so what about a bigger item that fits the event??  Much like the Ghost last year for SW.  I am good if it is just the Rattler, but maybe..........?

Oh and no mention of the 60th figures.

Thanks, I also place my preorder.

It is kind of weird that we get this content from Amazon and Kickstarter also at the same time.

I get it that the Kickstarter gives a nice packaging, but it cost a lot + shipping + duties + exchange.

It's just another in a long line of items being offered through the US that really is mostly only for those in the US.  So places like Amazon make it easier to just pick up the cheaper version.
