I'll offer my assistance as well, Mike.  Even though life circumstances prevented me from attending this year, I'm still eager to help however I can, so don't go it alone, dude!  ;)

The Pats win and now this.  Hell must of froze to explain why my car is covered in ice today.

Seriously, congrads to Justin.  I hope the raffle was a success.

Ha ha!!  It was funny, I was basking in the greatness (and unlikeliness) of the Pats victory when I got the news about the raffle.  I guess Sunday was just my day!   ;D

Thanks, Dave, I was so thrilled to get this great news!

I got it yesterday and it is a cool issue.
reading about those unproduced ML minions made me sad. maybe hasbro will pick em up...maybe.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did...aren't Diamond Select already doing a two-pack with the Skrull and Brood?

It was a cool issue...I've given up on Toyfare a bit, but this issue was pretty cool.  Some new Sigma 6 items shown, lots of love for the Real American Hero (it got lots of votes for favorite toylines/favorite playsets/best Christmas present, etc...).

I'm still hoping to attend, but it will depend on how busy life is in April...

So did they shrink the Winged Fury too? Wasn't the 3 3-4" version a two seater as well?

Yes, the Winged Fury is a new mold, and a smaller version of the helicopter.

Yeah, these are definitely 2.5" vehicles that will not work with the 3 3/4" scale. I did take a picture of Hit & Run standing next to that 2.5" HISS Tank at the Con, but I can't find it for the life of me now.  He basically towers over the HISS...the figure itself is almost as tall as the vehicle, there's no way he fits.  I think the HISS will be around the same size as the 2.5" Night OPS VAMP, or maybe a bit bigger.

I think I can make it...I'm gonna try real hard, anyway.  Still a ways away, and a long drive (and I need to sweet talk someone for lodging) but I'm hoping to be there.

General Joe Talk / Master Collector Subscriptions????
« on: September 30, 2006, 04:06:20 PM »
To me it's worth it because I attend the convention every year, and I pretty much get the membership by default.

The newsletters are kind of cool for Sigma 6 fans, because they often have news and information about Sigma 6 before you can get it other places, but beyond that, they're not all that great.

The free figure (yes there is a free figure with membership) is hit or miss.  I liked the Nullifier figure this year, but they haven't been all that great in years past.

There are also discounts in the Club shop as well.

When it comes down to it, yeah, it's definitely worth it to me, but your mileage may vary...

I might have to change what I said. It was first announced a few months ago, a General Hawk said it was even more confusing because the ROCC will be a reissue but the helicopter a retool. But researching again, it seems it's just the ROCC afterall. Sorry for the mix-up.

Yeah, the ROCC and RHINO Copter are two separate things.  The ROCC comes with a jet, and is a total re-release of the 3 3/4" version.  There may be some paint differences but the vehicle itself is exactly the same.

However, the helicopter that originally came with the RHINO (not the ROCC) is being released on it's own, and is retooled for the smaller figures.

Does that make more sense?

General Joe Talk / ebay auctions that make you say WTF

What's wrong with these auctions, exactly?

Did you see the winning bids?

I'm thinking I might sell my 30 strong CG army...and I'll only charge $2500 for it.  What a bargain!  :shifty:

Off Topic / Marvel legends ninja?!
« on: July 31, 2006, 08:00:50 AM »
Alas, the Ninja is a member of the "Hand", which was part of the Henchmen series that were originally slated to come as pack ins to certain Marvel Legends figures.  However, the Henchmens concept died in the design room, and they will not be released by Toy Biz.  Whether or not Hasbro picks up the slack, I don't know, but as it stands now, the Henchmen series will NOT be released.

Toy Biz was just showing the proto figures as kind of a sneak peek at some stuff that will not get produced.

It's too bad, because I think they had some great potential.
