The Southern Desert of Joes
« on: February 25, 2008, 06:40:29 PM »

So I'm in Tampa, FL today for business and poked around and the local toy emporia... and it really IS a desert for Joes. I saw a Roadblock, Duke and Scarlett singles and that was about it it terms of what we can't find in Canada. And two of the TRU's indicated in my GPS don't even exist anymore... The only positive is that what they have is about 1/3 less than what we pay.  >:(

One gem I did find was a Corps ATK at WM. I've loved the look of that vehicle since I first saw it. Now I just have to figure out how I'll get it home in my miniature luggage.

Other than that my impression of Tampa so far is very poor. A bunch of cars, roads and malls. Indistinguishable from say Tysons Corners, VA... and it probably has less green. Maybe I'll find out if it has a soul tomorrow...

Sorry to here your trip hasn't been more fun.  When I go to Florida I like to hit Disney World, always all kinds of fun there.  ;D
