Title: GIJOE Art.
Post by: ARROW on May 29, 2008, 01:29:11 AM
Hi folks, been quite a while since I last posted, but I thought I'd rejoin the forum here with something "in hand"--namely some of my artwork.
I'm a professional cartoonist by trade, and I fart around with stuff like spec designs for GIJOE etc for fun.
Here's some doodles:

Some Snake-Eyes Visor studies

Here's another one that I'll show in stages. Its a spec design for a GIJOE orbital Pararescue-man called Apogee.

The initial ruff.

Partial tight.

And the final tight, before the blacks have been added.

And still more.....
The following are some spec design for original GIJOE characters.
These are in ruff pencil forum, some partially inked.
Not sure if I'll ever complete them, but like Apogee........I might.

First up is Buzz-gun--a GIJOE Rail-gunner ( Linear Induction gun)

This is Broadsword--an SAS Siege-breaker
(http://http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y270/KenDavisCartoons/Broadsword.jpg)

Lastly is one I'm tentatively calling an Electro-viper--but I have a better name in mind for them that I'm keeping to myself, for now.

And here's just some inked head-shots of various GIJOE characters--see if you can guess who.
Some are easy, some maybe not as....

Great stuff.   My favorite is the Apogee artwork.

Wow. That is flat out awesome. Looking at doing any figures to back up the custom character artwork.

Hey I really enjoy your artwork!  Very 80s old-school (to my eyes)...and I mean this as a big compliment, since I don't really enjoy much comic art past 1991.
