Hi guys, thought that maybe you would like to see my first vehicle custom still a WIP
(http://http://buvezentous.com/ian/double_hiss6.jpg)
for the next two images, I did some photoshop tests to see how it will look like if I double the cannons
(http://http://buvezentous.com/ian/double_hiss12.jpg)
Test shot for the canopy, I'll probably try to cut the "inner" sections an keep each glass individual...
And...
I had this silly idea of using the Hiss Tank v5 tracks
(http://http://buvezentous.com/ian/double_hiss9.jpg)
So, what are your thoughts ?
-
I like it, not sure about the extra guns on top, I also like the idea of the new Hiss tank treads, but wish they filled in the underside of the tank more like the original.
Great work.
-
And Plus 1 timbit for you, and Post 666 for me.
-
I like but have you thought about adding some plastic to cover where the two turrets were? and some missile pods on the side or a under body cannon?
I know my local hobby shop carries the plastic that would work to cover the whole over. what type of puddy did you use?
-
Great Job so far! Keep the PoC treads on it and double the guns!
-
I can't wait to see the final product! Great work so far!!
-
That is pretty cool. I really like the new Hiss treads on it.
The back looks like it needs to be sanded down a bit more.
Now imagine it in chrome.
BTW, you get a timbit!
-
Thanks everybody. Of course it's no final yet. The hole will be filled and it needs some sanding and painting.
PS, Chrome would be coool ;-)
-
I've always wondered what a HISS would look like if it was made to match the first appearances in the comics (two seater/drop-down cockpit). Now I know and it looks awesome! Keep up the good work!
-
looks great, i like how the new hiss treads look on the vintage hiss.
-
Very nice. that should look awesome when finished.
-
Hi everybody,
I finally manage to find some time to continue my project. Still on primer, next will be final color.
Pictures are always the best way to show where we are...
here we go
(http://http://www.buvezentous.com/ian/1.jpg)
both canopy are individual

And because i'm sure all of you are dying to know... yes i've kept the "Elevating Attack Position" system. ;-)
so what do you think ?
-
WOW! That came out better then I thought! +1 I'm glad you stuck with the v.5 treads!
-
Thats pretty cool! The extra guns on top make it look like a HISS 2.
-
Very sweet looking
did you use polyfil or something like it to fill in the gap in the body?
-
it's some kind of plumber weld from JB
-
Really nice, I'm jealous! :o
-
I think this just became my favorite version of the HISS right after the original! GREAT job!
If you ever enter this in a customizing contest, be sure to leave a reminder here; you've got my vote!
-
That's pretty freaking awesome work, man. I can't wait to see it painted! If you do as good a job on the painting as you did on the bodywork and priming, it's gonna be BADASS!!
-
Well now. Timbit for you.
It's looking awesome, can't wait to see it painted up.
-
Now that is looking awesome.
All it needs now is some chrome.
-
@morgardee, no problem. give me the contacts and i'll get it chromed ;-)
-
Very Awesome Prince. Glad that you took your idea to the end, and that you're updating us with some cool pics. Can't wait to see what the Hiss is going to look like when you wrap it up - Keep it up! +
-
That really looks good. Are you planning on putting any decals on it?
-
I Have the decals from the HISS v5. all sort of letters and numbers + cobra logos. Somebody sugessted to call it KING H.I.S.S. I'll see what looks best.

AAAHHHH please do NOT use those stickers on your masterpiece! The stickers included with the v.5 are absolute, TOTAL CRAP! They show flaws very, VERY easily! I flawed some of mine just grabbing them with tweezers, and if you misplace one and have to peel it back up, FORGET IT! If you want to see how they look, check out my review and you'll see what I mean:

For your project I'd probably go with Cobrastickers.com or J. Ruben repro HISS stickers.
-
Hi again, ;-)
so i tried black with a bit of silver dry brushing. If this thing is done, I will only need to apply the stickers

That's pretty freaking awesome. I'd get a set of custom numbers and make that sucker #001, to hell with the 25th Anniversary HISS having that #!
-
Thanks dude, i really appreciate the comments
-
And btw I think having the Commander in the turret is a nice touch...if it were my Joeverse the "King HISS" would be his personal prototype HISS attack vehicle! And honestly man, that is REALLY one of the nicest custom vehicles I've seen. Just excellent work all the way around. I can't wait to see it with stickers!
-
How did I miss the Updated Pics? It looks AWESOME in BLACK! It is going to look So SWEET when you put stickers on it!
-
Okaaay, this is totally insane! I love it!! +1 for you man
-
That is one of the coolest customs ever. Period.
-
Wow! This is sweet!
There is only one thing that I have to suggest which I understand is quite hard to do and I could never do it myself. The cockpit canopy looks kinda strange cause there's two canopies. If there was only a way to meld them together or to cast a clear one piece one.
Don't get me wrong, I think it's awesome and kickass the way it is. Just for me, I'd prefer a one piece canopy.
-
I think the double canopy is a safety feature. The guy on the right ate at Taco bell and the guy on the left didn't.

Double canopy was something I wanted to have from the start. having them opened individually makes the concept something complex and futuristic at the same time. Something definitively Joe-Cobra
-
Looks very nice. Reminds me of a HISS in comics way back when for some reason.
As for the Taco Bell comment: would they need dual canopies or dual trap doors?
-
Looks really good, nice job!
-
Every update just keeps getting better.
-
Very cool, dude, I remember there being a two seater in the cartoon, right? Or was it the comic, or both?
-
Just awesome. I haven't checked in since the original post. Wow.
Very inspiring. I haven't decided what my mega-custom will be, but when I finish it, I hope it looks a fraction as good as yours.
Terriffic execution of your vision.
-
Here it is, finally done with stickers (thanks cobrastickers.com).
The KING H.I.S.S., a double seated tank with twin cannons. My first custom ever and I'm really proud of the result. I also kept the "popup system" of the v5 POC Hiss.

F#*%ING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That looks seriously badass, like Hasbro made it.
And see, I told ya Cobrastickers would look better than that junk they put with the V.5 HISS ;D You should send pics of that to Hasbro.
-
Formidable! Tres Fantastique! The stickers really made it all come together!
-
Can't say anything but WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
