Title: What is your opinion of the 30th Anniversary Vamp
Post by: CAPT. GRID-IRON on September 26, 2011, 11:44:30 AM
Just wondered what everyone's opinion of the 30th anniversary Vamp is, now that we know it has returned to its more traditional green color and has a really sweet driver, that blows the POC clutch out of the water.

i don't think you will be dissapointed, especially with the driver steel brigade delta, that figure is nice enough to be single carded and army built

That pic doesn't do it justice.  The real thing is much greener, the same color green as the 25th VAMP.

I'll try to take a few pics tonight.

The original release wasn't bad in the tannish color. I just didn't like the red shocks/undercarriage. A shot of spray paint would fix that.

As for the driver, he uses great parts but Hasbro really left out any paint detail. So instead of being this awesome driver he's actually really bland. I'm not even saying using military colors makes him bland. His head and body lack any detail and he just ends up looking like an unfinished prototype figure.

I opened my 30th Vamp last night.  I was a little bit disappointed with it.  I was excited with the POC Vamp when it came out.  I was luke warm about the red chassis, but I accepted the colour after reading the one description that said it's "a custom suspension which made it that colour" (I paraphrase).

With the 30th Vamp, I like the green colour of the Vamp, but I prefer the colour of the gun from the tan version.  The quality of the plastic is poor.  It seemed flimsy to me.  Overall, it looks nice but I would've preferred a completely new vehicle than a repaint.

Steel Brigade Delta really missed the mark too.  The lack of paint detail on the figure really takes away from what could be an amazing figure.  The figure's head is ridiculous.  I thought they would've used a balaclava clad head, instead it's a Snake Eyes head.  I was very disappointed when I saw that.  The figure is perfect for customization.  Hasbro missed an opportunity to make an amazing figure.

I want the new Vamp in my collection, but I won't be buying any extras.

I missed out on the POC Vamp when it came out, but did like the Tan colour.  I'm still not 100% sold on the Green coloured 30th but I am getting one(might custom paint it).  I've also heard what SnowHawk said about the figure being bland.  I was planning on customizing him anyway so I won't feel so bad when I wreck the original figure.
