Title: Haslab Classified HISS Tank ($299.99US)
Post by: canprime on June 28, 2022, 04:01:34 PM
So let's start the thread now that there was an early leak today.

Someone working on Hasbro Pulse's site is not paying enough attention.   For a brief period there was a listing for a Haslab Classified HISS Tank for $299.99US.  There was no picture, and it wasn't available to order, but still.  Considering it is supposed to be revealed tomorrow, someone is going to get a talking to about duty of care.

Let's hope for that price they include a lot like they did with the Skystriker.

I guess we'll know in less than 24 hours.

Forgot to add.  I did a quick calculation based off past Haslab projects that I bought, and here is what I expect as the final total for the Classified HISS Tank:

$299.99US + $29.99US shipping + $42.90US (Ontario 13% HST) for a final (US) total of $372.88.  Once converted by today's exchange rate, that comes out to $480.24 CDN!!!!!!!

OUCH!!!!!!!

I would say that is crazy, but I have been a sucker for a lot of the Haslabs, so I'll probably cave on this as well.  I'm just hoping they trick it out like they did the Skystriker.

That's a lot of money for a Hiss tank. Hoping it will get functional treads

If it doesn't have working treads for that price it will be a deal breaker for a lot of fans.  I am expecting it to have that at least.

I am also hoping for some kind of support vehicle.   A lot of people are hoping for a tow vehicle (Asp, MMS) but I don't think Hasbro is willing to go that big for an add in vehicle.  However I hope they do some kind of support vehicle like the fueler and weapons cart they did with the Skystriker.

I want that HISS.... for 3.75 inches o-ring fig 😁

The led lights and working treads are awesome.

This for 3 3/4 would be awesome!

I think one of the unlocks will be the the towable mms making it the Sentry and Missile System.
They could reuse half of the weapon carrier from the Skystriker and just change the top part.

With the Kickstarter Roboskull project they were able to make compatibility like this:

2 (TWO) removable 1:18 scale seats (Pilot & Rear Gunner) for 3.75" & 4" figures
1 (ONE) removable 1:12 scale seat for 6" figure

That's a great idea. Hasbro could make this for the HISS too...

So I backed this already, but man the unlocks have really made this tempting to me for a second HISS.

However the price keeps that thought in check.

I was happy with the first unlock, but underwhelmed by the second tier.  Then swung all the way back to impressed with the third tier.  A female HISS Gunner (Driver) is awesome, and the nose guns are a nice addition.  The only thing is that with all these accessories the HISS is starting to look a little ridiculous all kitted out.  The picture of it with the missile racks, nose guns and turret guns is kind of busy looking.  I'll probably keep it simple with maybe the missile racks, or one of the turret guns.

I think making it compatible with both 6" and 3.75" would be a cool idea, but Hasbro isn't going to "confuse" the brand with that kind of option.  Plus they can try and sell us a second version for 3.75" separately down the line.

Overall this is a great Haslab in my opinion, and I am glad to see it is killing it compared to other projects.

So tier 4 is a Mickey Mouse Cobra Commander.

It looks great, and I can't believe they are giving us 4 figures in this project.  This looks to be a great figure, and I like all the little details.

Now I'm being greedy and hope they give us a surprise 5th tier due to the fact that this is going to pass the tier 4 goal with at least 35 days to go until the end.  That is a lot of time with nothing to draw attention to the project.

Awesome for all those who backed it. Definitely best bang for your back with all tiers.
Still think they should have included a towable vehicle

I have no doubt that there is something planned to be towed by the HISS.  Especially since Lenny mentioned the tow hook during the reveal.  The question becomes, do they have something in reserve to "surprise" fans with another, higher tier?  Or is it something that will show up at retail, or fan channel stores, since the HISS has done so much better than anyone expected?  Which means that the higher ups at Hasbro will probably be willing to let the Joe brand have more money, and opportunity, to get vehicles on shelves.  Hopefully they can show retailers that there is demand as well with how well the HISS is doing.

So we passed the 16,000 tier 4 unlock yesterday!!!!

Nice to see everything is unlocked and now we enter the "hurry up and wait" stage.  34+ days until the end of the funding period means we probably have a lot of quiet time until the last few days.

Definitely a nice problem to have.

Update:

HISS Tank:

16,496 / 8,000  (+75)  As expected the daily number has dropped again, and will probably continue to drop for a few more days before levelling off at some low double digit amount.  Then of course it will jump up again in the final days.  That is, of course, if nothing else is offered/shown/incentivized for backers.

206.20% of funding goal with 31d 17h left.

Definitely has slowed down quite a bit, but of course it is all gravy from now on for Hasbro so they don't have a worry.  It will be interesting to see what they do to try and keep the interest up for this project.

First of the "Final" updates:

HISS Tank:

26,772 / 8,000  (+4,984)  Almost 5,000 more backers in less than 19 hours.  Nice finish!!

Of course this isn't the "final" total since there is usually 10 days to cancel your order if you change your mind, plus there may be payment processing issues still.  On top of that I don't think they have included non-Pulse international orders so that could up the numbers some more, but we'll have to wait and see.  Probably another week, or so.

334.65% of funding goal (so far).

So did anyone get in on the HISS Tank Haslab?

I did and I am glad I did, but the wait is going to be killer.  Hopefully they'll get the poll out soon on which HISS Tactician colour we can vote on because I'm all about the black and red design.

Did they ever get this poll going? Curious to what the collectors want to see.

Nothing yet, the hope is that something will be mentioned during the upcoming Pulse Premium livestream, but I don't imagine that will be the case since it excludes a large portion of people who are not Pulse Premium members.

I'm thinking it will be more along the lines of an email to backers, much like they did with the Galactus packaging art poll.

I really liked the new shots from the painter at Hasbro who revealed the painted shots of the female HISS Gunner and Cobra Commander.  They look great, can't wait!!

I saw an image posted with a prototype sitting next to one of the original hiss re-issued for scale.  I knew it was going to be large. But was shocked to see just how big it is going to be.

So they finally got around to the fan poll for the HISS Tactician.

The strange thing is that they are allowing people to vote once every 24 hours until October 30th.   I am so used to one vote and that's it, that I was taken aback by this change.  It would be interesting to see the numbers breakdowns by day to see if there was a clear favourite, or if there was an early favourite that got surpassed by a second choice.

Anyway well know who won by next week.

Agreed, but Bravo is the most fitting, in my opinion, for the whole look of the HISS and crew.

Clearly the wrong one was voted in.

I would of legit gotten my Hiss Tank chromed when it arrived had this guy gotten voted in.

I think Bravo was the right choice.  While I like some of the other options, I actually don't care for Echo.  Too bland with the all black and the legs would look silly in a chrome colour, and would fade into the mold colours if not bright enough.

I'm sure some of the other variants will pop up somewhere down the line at retail.  If somehow they think they could release a HISS at retail it will be a much reduced version with very little of the bells and whistles of the Haslab version.

So an interesting rumour around Haslab.

Take this with a mountain of salt because there is little corroboration from any reliable source.  (Supposedly it comes from an artist who lost out on the job)

So.......

The rumour for the next Haslab is a Classified Dragonfly.

It would have Wild Bill and Airborne, plus a flight stand.  It would, supposedly, be 3 feet long and 10.5" high.  No mention of tier unlocks, or other figures.

Again take it with a large grain of salt.

So if this is true I would be in, depending on the price of course.  Great choices for figures, and I would love to have it displayed squaring off against the HISS.  However the dimensions worry me.  The length (3 feet) is longer than the Marvel Legends Sentinel is high.  That is a lot of horizontal shelf space needed.  They the height is almost as big as a 1/6 scale figure (12").  That is not short by any stretch.  Finally the blades will be a #$%^ to display.  Because if you try to have any sort of dynamic display, where the blades don't just line up directly with the body, you need even more shelf depth to display.   Unless of course you hang it from the ceiling.

Anyway, we'll know something soon if the past year was any indication.  When the Haslab Rancor failed in late 2021, they tried the Inquisitor Lightsaber the next spring.  Then the HISS came along shortly after (summer).  Since the Skystriker and HISS both funded, I wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro tries for another Joe Haslab this spring.

Has anyone gotten an update regarding their Haslab HISS tank?  if it is to ship Fall '23, that leaves 21 days.  Usually I get a notification about shipping info, etc.  But I have heard nothing.   On the website it lists it as unfulfilled.

Well they did have a deadline of last Friday for people to update their addresses before the HISS ships.  So that should mean they will start the process this week.

I also saw online some reports that people are getting shipping label generation emails from FedEx.  So maybe that means they'll start shipping in the next week or so for some people?

Any updates from fellow Canadians?  UK customers have started to receive their shipments - I have heard nothing.
I am starting to think this might be a January arrival.

Some people in the US have posted that they have received shipping emails from Hasbro, and two posts I read said that FedEx listed their delivery as tomorrow (today) so it could be sooner than we realize.

Also if history is anything to go by, for me, I expect to get my HISS and then a day or two later I'll get the email from Hasbro telling me my HISS is shipping.  That is what happened with my last couple of Haslabs.  I am still hopeful that most of us will get it before the end of the year.

I only did one other HasLab, and that was the RazorCrest.  It was organized, and all emails came in the same time as the US customers, and shipping was within a day or two after US customers received theirs.
So this communication black hole is new to me.

Yeah that is not the norm.  Also getting things at the same time, or with a day or two of US backers is also not the norm.  They are definitely better on the logistics side of things now than they were a couple years ago, but you still need to be patient.  They'll get here sooner than we think, but communication may not be timely.

I assume your assessment on timing is accurate.  I am very impatient on this as I need to work out where the heck I am going to display it.
