For Sale or Trade / Wanted - Fisher Price Adventure People
« on: June 15, 2013, 05:15:06 PM »
I'm on an Adventure People kick for my son right now. I'm looking for figures and vehicles to be used with in his sand box.

I've got a boat load of fodder figures (ARAH) to trade.

PM me if you've got any. Condition doesn't matter but obviously I'd like decent shape. These are going to be played with by my son and a bunch of the neighborhood kids and abused like any good toy should.

Thanks!

For Sale or Trade / Master Collector Iceberg MOC
« on: May 30, 2013, 07:00:05 PM »
I have an extra MOC Iceberg figure if anyone is interested in trading.

I could use any of the SDCC figures to open with the exception of pink Zarana as I already have one of that figure opened. I also need a loose MC Dial Tone. I'm also interested in Adventure Team 3 3/4 MC figures or will consider any FSS wave 1 future FSS wave 2 figures (again, to open).

Thanks for looking.

All Across Canada / Jurassic Park Joes in Canada
« on: May 25, 2013, 05:42:36 PM »
The two jurassic park sets that have G.I. Joe parts to make the figures are available here in Canada and they are cheaper then in the US.

I picked up the triceratops one in the US for $29.99. Then the other week I bought my son the Allosaurus from my local TRU for $26.99. Just make sure you check the figure. My guy with the Allosaurus had two left biceps.

No idea if this is old news or not but I came across this tonight and thought it was pretty cool:

I'd put that beside my monitor downstairs if I got the chance to own it for retail cost.

For Sale or Trade / 2013 Night Force Convention set for sale
« on: April 22, 2013, 07:16:45 AM »
Title says it all. I have an extra Night Force convention set from the US convention last month. It has the Night Force ATV included.

It's on Ebay for $380. They cost $360 for a boxed home front hero set but this includes the attending bonus vehicle the Night Force ATV. The $20 price increase was to off set the Ebay listing fees and I'm too lazy to figure out the exact percentage I would have been charged.  ;)

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/GI-Joe-Convention-2013-Night-Force-Box-Set-15-figures-with-Bonus-ATV-/200916177558?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item2ec7899296&_uhb=1#ht_855wt_1186

The photos the GIJCC honestly didn't do these figures any justice. Repeater is just awesome. Even the SAW Viper is good and I thought he was a lemon when the pictures first came out.

Off Topic / Rumour: Disney after Habro next?
« on: November 05, 2012, 06:22:55 PM »
Take this with as a rumour at this point:

By "Geek Spy"
OK folks, take this one with a grain of plastic for the time being. Unless you’ve been under a rock, you’ve heard that Disney acquired Lucasfilm for roughly $4 billion last week and Marvel for around the same price a few years prior. Well, we have it on good authority that serious discussions are happening at the highest levels of both Disney and Hasbro to fold the largest toy and game company on the planet into the Mouse.
From what we’re told, these are still just discussions at this point, but serious enough that something could be announced at any time and create ripples throughout the entertainment industry. The Lucasfilm acquisition has been reported as taking as few as 6 months to complete. On the other hand, Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger has until 2015 on his current contract, and he waited about 3 years in between the acquisitions of Marvel and Lucasfilm, so we may be without firm news on this for some time.
The acquisition would give Disney the rights to Transformers, G.I. Joe, Dungeons and Dragons, Beyblade, Battleship, Nerf, and Magic: The Gathering among several dozen other game titles and IP. When you add Marvel and Star Wars to that list it’s a pretty comprehensive lock on boy’s entertainment; a far cry from a few years back when Disney was heavily criticized for losing its grip on boys.
Hasbro holds the toy and table top game licenses to the now Disney-owned Star Wars and Marvel, and has shown great success with those franchises, as well as exploiting their own IP across film, television, and games. We’ve already seen some cross-pollination with Star Wars Transformers and Monopoly. And Hasbro isn’t shy from M&A having scooped up Parker Brothers, Kenner, Tonka, Milton Bradley, and Wizards of the Coast over the years. So from an outsider’s perspective this makes a ton of sense for all involved.
So if this turns out to be true, what will it mean for these franchises and their homes, and what will it mean for The Hub, the Hasbro-Discovery JV cable net?
The Transformers and G.I. Joe films are with Paramount, but as we saw with Marvel, that could easily change. The animated series are with The Hub, along with Beyblade, Kaijudo, and others, and it’s not clear how that channel would fit into Disney’s plans. They could be folded into Disney XD, and the girls brands folded into Disney Channel. On the comics’ side this would be bad news for IDW, just as the Marvel acquisition was for BOOM! and the Lucasfilm acquisition is likely to be for Dark Horse.
But here’s hoping to a Marvel vs. Star Wars vs. Transformers vs. G.I. Joe vs. D&D vs. Bronies video game! (So yeah, this means Disney would also own My Little Pony, and there would be plenty of cross-over material there, too.)

Off Topic / Star Wars Episode VII coming in 2015.
« on: October 31, 2012, 08:36:06 AM »
Disney purchased Lucas Films! Star Wars Episode VII is suppose to be coming in 2015! Remember, Disney also bought Marvel and look how good the latest Marvel movies have been. Great news indeed. I wonder if the will at least use Mark Hamill as an older Jedi teaching the new Jedi.

All Across Canada / GI Joe club Fall sale 2012.
« on: October 25, 2012, 01:40:06 PM »
Has anyone checked out the GIJoe Club's fall sale?

Sure, their web site was a nightmare and if you go over 4 pounds the shipping will kill you but some of the deals I've seen are crazy.

Before they made changes to the site you could see how much inventory was left and some of the stuff they had was in HUGE numbers.

Last time I looked they had the 2005 Unmasked Storm Shadow for $1.99 and over 1000 items left. All the cool things like their exclusive Undertow figures went in the first day. They were $3.99 a piece and I sort of wish they limited the number per customer to something like 5 maximum per member. They still have some of the 2004, 2005, 2006 membership figures worth checking out for $3.99 each.

They have the AGP from a few years ago up for $35 (limit 2 per member) which is a fair price and it's colours tie into last years convention set.

I made a small order for myself, one AGP, a parachute Dust and a could of 12 inch outfits.

This is the best sale I've seen them have on line so far and I've been a member for probably around 10 years now.

Hit the "SHOP" tab in the top left corner. It's worth checking out:

All Across Canada / Zeller's G.I. Joe Renegades for $4.99
« on: October 20, 2012, 10:14:20 AM »
I don't know how long the sale is on for, but last night I picked up a bunch of Renegades Joes for $4.99.

I bought the Techno Vipers, Security Vipers, a Hazard Viper and the impossible to find Storm Shadow.

Yeah, I know I said I was loosing interest in Joes but something about Techno Vipers just pulls me in.

They also had the Vamp 2 for $16.99 and a few other things.

Not sure if this across Canada or not but at my local store all yellow priced items are 50% off, so you can get the Target sets for around $11 and the first movie 4 pack with 2 blue neo vipers, Snake eyes and Duke was $15.00, if anyone still needs those.
