General Joe Talk / Jungle Viper
« on: March 12, 2005, 12:11:38 PM »
Pictures of the MC groups Jungle Viper are now up. Not what I was expecting but still looks really nice. You can images of him over at http://www.mastercollector.com/

Looks like he's made from the Coils crusher legs and Razor Trooper head and body. I didn't look up the arms.

General Joe Talk / Happy Birthday G.I. Joe
« on: February 08, 2005, 11:31:11 AM »
Just posted this over at joecustoms and thought I'd post this here as well...

My wife's friend sent me an email saying Happy Birthday G.I.Joe. Not knowing what she was talking about I looked it up on google and something I didn't know is G.I.Joe's exact birthday is February 9th, 1964.

Sorry if this is common knowledge but I had no idea so thought I'd pass it on. This would be a good time for on line vendors to offer a "Birthday sale" of all things Joe related.

Anyhow, tomorrow is the big guys birthday, so happy birthday Joe!

Yearly CanJoeCon Discussion / WWE at the meet?
« on: February 05, 2005, 12:56:01 AM »
So I have 2 questions. Are we playing WWE again and if so, what was the version? I'd like to try to make a character of myself if we play again.

General Joe Talk / Don't believe the hype (2005 convention info).
« on: January 04, 2005, 11:44:06 AM »
There is a list floating around of this years 2005 lineup. I'm not going to bother posting it for 2 reasons, it sucks to have the surprise ruined and Brian over at the MC group has responded to a thread about this years figures, is aware of the "list" and saying we should be careful what we read and there is a lot of incorrect information floating around.

There was a thread about the Con over at Joecustoms that was closed down and I asked Beav directly if I should post what Brian was saying but Beav thought that might lead to more conflict, which makes sense. Anyhow, thought I would at least pass this info onto my fellow Canucks.

Take it for what it's worth.

For Sale or Trade / Looking to trade Crimson Hiss for Hiss tank 3.
« on: December 30, 2004, 11:15:13 AM »
I bought a single Operation Crimson Sabotage Hiss tank (no figures or ASP) a few weeks ago and Santa brought me a couple of OCS sets so I am looking to trade it for a loose HISS 3 (the blue one).

Anyone wanna trade me?

General Joe Talk / I need to change my habits.
« on: December 15, 2004, 09:32:55 AM »
After looking at my credit card and seeing what damage waves 4 - 6 have caused plus pre orders for Ninja sets, comic packs and getting help from the U.S. to get a Crimson Sabotage set ordered I've come to realize I need to cut back.
Now I'm not giving up and I still want to be a MOC and loose collector, I think from now on no more army building unless I can get the figures locally (not from the U.S.).  The only thing that I might buy 2 extra figures of is the Viper in classic colours that comes with Gung Ho.
I need to spend money on other things. I haven't even bought the cartoon on DVD yet.

General Joe Talk / Action Force Zartan
« on: December 14, 2004, 04:28:39 PM »
I was going thru some of the Joe boxes I have in my attic and pulled out my Action Force Zartan and noticed this write up on Yojoe about it:

"At some point in France, Hasbro re-released some G.I.Joe toys - toys that had previously been released as Action Force toys - in G.I.Joe packaging. Pictured above is the French G.I.Joe release of Zartan with the Swamp Skier. Zartan with the Swamp Skier had previously been released in Action Force packaging"

Taken from here: http://www.yojoe.com/international/france/zartan.shtml

My Action Force Zartan box is the the same art as the American package but in English (makes sense as I bought it in England for 6 pounds). This box is in perfect condition so I pulled it out and put it in my Joe room. You guys ever see this version of packaging before?

Off Topic / Batman question, who is Hush?
« on: December 09, 2004, 08:31:03 AM »
I got out of comics a while ago but keep hearing about Batman "Hush". From what I know, the character is or was a big secret, so if anyone reads Batman, please tell me who is Hush, or at least who do you think he is.

You guys should check this out:

http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/americas/ ... index.html

It's an article from CNN talking about an American T shirt compnay selling "Canadian" T shirts for travelling Americans. Made me laugh at first...

Off Topic / wave 6 in at gijoehq.com
« on: November 26, 2004, 08:46:37 AM »
Anyone else here shop at GIJoehq.com? I use them every once in a while and while I find the vintage stuff too expensive, the pre order for the new stuff has decent deals. This morining I got an email from them saying wave 6 was in. While I'm hoping that wave shows up here, I just love my deadnoks way to much to pass. A case came to $85.00 U.S. but that includes shipping. That works out to $100.87 a case Canadian or $8.41 a pack. That beats Walmart's prices. Now the question is how much will I end up paying for customs.

Ontario / Giant Tiger Power Team Elite Humvee
« on: November 23, 2004, 05:25:52 PM »
Just got back from the Giant Tiger near my house and they have the Power Team Elite Humvee's in stock for $19.99 each. They have the army version and SWAT version. I didn't pick one up (yet  :shifty: ) as it's time to spend money on others, but maybe next month. I looked at the back and there are all sorts of cool vehicles. if I ever see that Jet on the back, forget Christmas shopping, I'd buy that in a second.

Should I post this here or in the Ontario sightings section?

Off Topic / Sears/K-Mart merge
« on: November 18, 2004, 08:40:07 AM »
http://money.cnn.com/2004/11/17/news/fo ... tm?cnn=yes

Looks like both companies have merged. I'm hoping this will affect Canadian Sears stores as we don't have any more K-Marts here. Maybe Sears will start to carry G.I.Joe again.
