I guess I should have posted this almost a week ago but if anyone is swinging into K-Town for Oktoberfest, let me know.

I've grown up with this event so it doesn't phase me anymore. How does the rest of Canada see Oktoberfest anyhow? Living in Kitchener / Waterloo since I was 2 I might be desensitized to it by now.

Off Topic / Star Wars on DVD

Just got this in the mail today from Amazon, which totally surprised me since it was released today. Anyhow, if you have an X Box you are in for a surprise. There is a cool playable demo of Star Wars Battle Front on the bonus DVD. I spent my lunch hour shooting Ewoks in the face. Can't beat that! Oh, did I mention I was on their side while shooting them. :evil:

Anyhow, worth buying I think.

Kinda surprised nobody made this topic yet, but so far I've gotten Cobra Commander and Duke from a few different McDonalds in Kitchener. Glad to see they are not just in the U.S.

Ontario / Jungle Strike Humvee and Sky sweeper jet

I mentioned this in another thread but thought I'd make a new subject message so it's easier to find. I just picked up both the Jungle Strike Humvee and Sky sweeper jet from my local Toys R Us in Kitchener, $19.99 each ($45 or so after tax for both).
BTW, the Sky Sweeper comes with Sgt.Airborne in a black outfit. Is that what figure came with the Sky sweeper before? It's not mentioned on the Yo Joe section of the figure:

Off Topic / My 2 year wedding anniversary

So yesterday was my 2 year wedding anniversary and what does my wife buy me? An X Box. Totally not expecting one of those. I have a PS2 (that my brother bought us as a wedding gift) and lots of games for that.

Anyhow, here's my question, anyone have any recommendations for games on the X Box. My brother and I like to go head to head (or co op) first person shooting games.

Looking for suggestions.

I just realized that there is a store called "Mattel Factory Outlet" in my area. It's in the St.Jacobs factory outlet mall. I've been in there a few times but don't recall ever seeing that. Think I'll go check it out from He-Man figures this weekend.

I just won an ebay auction for 3 BTR Firefly figures. I don't need 3 of them, so anyone want to buy one of them let me know. The cost with shipping for all 3 figures was $20.51 (USD) so I'm looking for $6.80 each (and if you want it shipped to you that would costs whatever shipping to your part of Canada costs, no infated prices). I'm keeping one, so I have 2 up for grabs.

Ontario / Giant Tiger has 12 inch figures.

I saw this last night. They had Overkill, Cross Hair and Depth Charge all for $9.98. I picked up an Overkill just for the heck of it. The funny thing is I've had this feeling for a while now that Joes would be showing up in Giant Tiger soon. Maybe this is because they had these small puzzels show up around a month ago.

Anyhow, since these were "Spytroops" and I don't think these figures showed up in my area before, maybe they can score some 3 3/4 sized Spy Troops for cheap. Wave 7.5 would be nice but I'd be happy to see anything. Maybe some of the vehicles would really be a cool find.

Everyone go raid your local Giant Tiger stores and show them there is an interest in G.I.Joe and maybe we'll luck out.

So there was a thread going on over at the MC group about next years possible location for the convention and of course everyone suggested their own towns. Since we're mostly all Canadian here I asked Brian if it was possible to have next years con in Buffalo or Niagara Falls. His response was short and left me with a slight hope. All he said was "You just never know where we may pick...."

So maybe, with a little luck it'll be in a place like Niagara falls. For me, a 2 hour drive, others like Mike, less than an hour.

Then again I could be way off base and it could be in Texas for all I know. It just sounded positive for us Canucks and thought I'd pass along what I read this morning.

Ontario / Liquidation world shocker

Alright guys, check out your local liquidation worlds when you can. I was wasting time waiting for my wife to get off work, walking around the toy section looking for cheap knock of Joes when I can across G.I.Joe Collectors series! It was not the Big Ben/White Out wave! :shock: :shock: :shock: These were on American cards. I saw Big Brawler/ Trip wire, Gung Ho?leather neck and Zartan/ Shadow Vipers. All for $4.00 eack. Rest assure my shadow viper army just grew from 1 to now 6 and at $2.00 a figure you can't go wrong.
I'm not sure if other stores will get the same stock or not, but mine here in Kitchener had them. Now all they have left is a bunch of Big Brawlers

Now I just need J&R customs to re-open so I can get some Saw Viper heads!
