I met here a few years ago at a GI Joe convention in Florida I think. She is VERY nice. She was trying to get the audience to all scream "Cobraaaa" at her.

I talked with her for a bit in the hallway. She comes across as being very down to earth.

She is defiantly worth meeting.

I was meaning to do a review on the Crimson Strike set but it never happened. The short review in the AVAC pilot feels like he should be part of the Canadian Convention sets. It's all black with some well placed highlights. I totally fits in with the Cobra Troopers.

General Joe Talk / Re: Fan Expo 2015

I'll let you know.  I have a ticket for Thursday only, for the reasons you mentioned.

Haven't gone it awhile.  The last two times I went were when they had the HISS Scout and cycle armour, and the time before when they had Galactus and Sgt. Slaughter.

Like you I checked out what was still available at HTS and I hope they show up at Fan Expo.

Would love it if the Book of Vishanti and Ant-Man sets also showed, but I won't hold out hope.

Ant man set sold out so I doubt that one will show up.

Have fun and give us a report on the event.

General Joe Talk / Fan Expo 2015

Something I've been thinking about for a few weeks now is that I won't be surprised about is if I hear the Hasbro both at Fan Expo has leftover SDCC stuff.

Before I started to go they had GI Joe stuff but every year I went they didn't.

Looking at the Hasbro Toy Shop on line they still have the Crimson Strike Sets and the Kreo sets. People who wanted them have already bought them. I did and it cost me $300 after the dollar exchange, shipping and taxes. That was for 1 Crimson Strike set and 1 Sgt. Slaughter Kreo set.

If anyone is going to Fan Expo, can you let me know if I'm right? I'm not going this year.

BTW, the best day to shop is the Thursday (if they still open on Thursday). Smaller crowd, more inventory.

Off Topic / Rowdy Roddy Piper passed away.

I don't spend as much time on the internet any more so i was shocked when I heard Rowdy Roddy Piper  passed away.

I'll miss the Hot Rod. He was one of the best.

I bought the Gentle Giants Mico 2 pack off ebay. It was $35 (USD) so the price didn't seem bad. After import, shipping and currency conversion it cost me over $70.00.

It was not worth it.

I was unimpressed by the micro figures. The don't have an articulation. I didn't find out about that until after I purchased them. I was thinking it would be funny to have micro Joes invade my wife's Assassin Creed sets she has over her PC but nope. Boring statues.

Man Peter Cullen is a class act. Great stories and seems like an honest, down to earth decent guy.

One thing that stood out was when he talked about voice acting for other people characters. Great story about how he auditioned for a role and the directors said great, that's a wrap and went away. Peter said to the sound technician "I don't know the original guy died". The sound tech told him "He didn't. They just don't want to pay him what he wants". Peter walked away from the job.

Like I said, class act.

Items Wanted / Re: G.I.JOE ADVENTURE TEAM JEEP : Part's WANTED PLEASE

Ah, I know this jeep well.

The wind shield might be a problem. I repaired mine but it still looks pretty bad.

You can get good quality reproduction parts on line here:

I've bought from them several times. I love those guys. For my jeep I purchased this:

Good luck!

I took a few quick pics with my blackberry. The pictures aren't that great but you get the idea. I still have figure to assemble.

Straight up Green commando:

Green dude with a trooper head swap:

Cobra blue (with a Hasbro trooper thrown in for comparison);

Red Fire Trooper:

Red Shock Trooper:

One of the four black dudes that I wasn't sure what to do with:

Tan dude with black legs. My wife Sheryl didn't care that much for this one but I like it:

White trooper (flash washed out some of the details):

Night Force Flint:

I received my set on Tuesday. I have 20 figures in total and a boat load of parts.

The thing I LOVE about this set is on the weekend I like to drink a beer or two, watch a movie and fiddle. That is why I use to make so many customs.

With these I'll be busy for hours. Mixing and matching the sets is great fun.

I thought the pure black guy would be the most boring of the lot but that's not the case. His basic figure is cool but using the boil and pop you can remove his entire lower torso and basically switch pants on your guys. Moving the black pouches from the black guy onto other figure really makes them pop.

One of my white figures I mixed with black parts. I'll admit I was thinking "Stormtrooper" when I put that one together. Once he was done I used my glue gun to secure it all so nothing ever falls off. With hot glue if I really want to remove it later I can.

I'll be doing it again for the next wave, no doubt.

I didn't know so many of us shared music tastes.

My background is first and foremost Punk.

When I was a little kid I listened to a lot of metal like Quite Riot and Twisted Sister.

70's Punk like the obvious bands like Sex Pistols, Class, Ramones and less popular band like Stiff Little Fingers (look up Suspect Device by Stiff Little fingers). I also spent a week digging through a bunch of hole in the wall records shops in the UK when I was 16 looking for rare Pistols albums.

80's was all about the band the Circle Jerks. Keith Morris was my idol. I'm also a fan of Dead Kennedys but I also like odd bands like sigue sigue sputnik.

From the 90's I like a mix of the industrial music like Ministry to most of the fat wreck chords and epitaph stuff plus GWAR. I'm a huge fan of GWAR. To date they still put on the best show I've seen, even with a new singer. I also enjoy New York hard Cord like Bio Hazzard.

Once we got into 2000 there wasn't a lot that grabbed my attention so I stared to get back into metal. My sons favorite song is "Holy Wars" by Megadeth, so it's safe to say I listen to a lot of that. You can never go wrong with Iron Maiden either.
