That's good news indeed. I'm on the edge of leaving the hobby but if Hasbro comes back to the table and says they still have plans for Joe that might keep me around a bit longer.

That's always been a weird mentality to me. If they stopped making G.I. Joe I'd still always be a part of the hobby. Just maybe not spending so much $$$ on it. I guess for some people a collection that doesn't grow isn't interesting?

Not really. I'm all around loosing interest in toy collecting. Every time there is new Joe news it makes me go"Oh? What's going on?" but every time it seems to have less and less impact. I use to tell my wife everything Joe related but now I hardly mention it. Dalton has no desire to play with it except maybe the odd animal, so the idea of sharing the hobby with my son isn't likely to become a reality. Some times I think the collection looks cluttered and then I start thinking "If I sold all this stuff I could pay off my house and buy a new vehicle".

I totally missed the big toy show this year. I didn't find out about it until a few weeks later. BTW, that new Devastator looks neat.

So when I hear Hasbro is going to be there it makes me go "Oh, I wonder what they have planned" but at a more causal pace.

Thanks for the heads up! I noticed if I add two Viper Pit packs it's not $40.00 ($19.98 + $9.99) but when you add something like a pack of crayons washable crayons ($4.49) the second Viper Pit pack is now $12.24. I added an expensive Lego set and it's back to $9.99.

Something goofy is going on with their BOGO calculator.

Not going, it's just too damn expensive. Not even getting a set this year because it'll cost around $500 for the set after exchange rate and customs and that's not even including shipping. Plus other than lifeline, wreckage and recondo, the rest are too lacklustre to me and I was actually excited for this set. Other than the headsculpt on metalhead, I find him meh at best.

Agreed.  If you add up all the costs (convention set, extra figures and vehicles, hotel, meals, travel by car (or flight), customs, exchange rate), I wouldn't be shock if you dropped close to $1500 to go.

CAD=$500 for the set. $800 for flight (cheapest to Springfield and 12hrs). $1150 for room (5 nights). plus food, plus cab, plus extras (if there are any left), plus tips, etc. Realistically it's closer to $3500-$5000 Canadian for me. Almost forgot the $200 fuel to get to the airport and back plus parking fees.

So..... nope. not worth it. Ordered a lifeline. might order a recondo. Save the cash for sideshow joes! :)

Where did you order Lifeline and what's he cost?

After looking at the math on this again and seeing how much the second hand market is already flooded with pre-orders for loose figures I think I might pass on this.

Box set = $375.
Bag Set = $ 225.
Total = $600
Exchange rate today = $761.93
Divided by 30 = $25.40

Not included was shipping costs and possible taxes. So you can probably round that up to about $30 per figure (CND).

If you sell on Ebay you will be charged for the item and the shipping costs. Shipping on eBay you should ship with tacking (I've been burned before by buyers who refused it and then filed against me and got their money back so I always ship with tracking).

So to sell 1 figure and not loose money you would have to charge around $48 Canadian per figure total cost. The army builders aren't that great.

I'm not sure it's worth it.

I'll probably wait for the club to have another clearance sale and buy the box set for $250 or something like that in 2 years time.

I like the Power Glide as a Rattler Jet. Is there a story behind that one?

Lady Jaye/Baroness is no longer showing on the web page.

I got my order yesterday but one of my Heat Vipers had a broken leg. Pete swung by and we were talking as I opened one of my Heat Viper and boom, his leg stayed in the package. I just swung by TRU on my way from work and swapped it out. There was 1 Sniper pack left in K-W's TRU. The rest was all Heat Viper.

Dye is used because it looks better and won't chip. If it can take the dye, you are better off doing it that way, especially when there is a 1000 figures to be done. Trim and detail is painted later. I forget the sealer I used as it's been a while.

No, I did not do all the con sets. I helped for a few years. 2011 was the last year I was involved.

In regards to the heads, we selected a bunch of different heads and they were shipped to me. I would put the heads on different bodies, take pictures and upload them for the group. As a team we would discus which head worked, which didn't and then put it to a vote.

Take Down was always suppose to be a "tough as nails" drill instructor. When we were looking at the possible head options the one with the cap was one of the original ones we were looking at. If I recall correctly it was the original pick but when we received the sample heads that one was missed in the order. We had a time table so went with the best looking one we had.I still think he's bass ass looking.

His arms there was a lot of concern over the dye job coming through the paint job over time. I painted two coats of flesh coloured paint and then sealed it. The dye didn't bleed through the paint job but at the time we didn't know for sure.

Also, I think on the prototype the entire body was dyed red and on the finished product I think the legs were dyed black.

Prototype Coyote Trooper's head he does look meaner on the released head. Interesting note, I have never seen that head anywhere else. The other heads I've seen on line but not that one.

The Night Ops dude there really wasn't a huge difference. It's just silver paint an the shade of grey was a little different. The lighter shade of grey one the one released matched better to the rest of the grey on the figure.

Nice! I already had all the sets but I picked up a couple of the Heat Viper sets and one more of the Sniper sets. The code helped as well.

Thank you!
