General Joe Talk / Re: Vintage vehicles value vs. 25th ann. vehicles
« on: December 18, 2008, 11:06:05 AM »
i agree with mike on that for me it is all about the memories i grew up playing with the. When my daughter was about 8, I had a hard time keeping her hands off them too lol. My 2 year old son is now saying gijoe to, so it wont be long before he wants his own. The vintage ones will stand the test of time and had durability to them should the kids get them and play with them. I like the look and detail of the 25th line but to me i don't think they were really geared toward kids playing with them, they were sculpted in my opinion for us collectors that just want to display them moc or loose.  the good thing about the new ones for me is that i can get them as they are coming out, and i can keep them moc this time around.  ;D

I have had lots of luck with the wd40. Only had to drill out 1 screw, which did infact damage the figure. But oh well had 3 of it anyway. As for screws i do have a few that i got in a parts lot off ebay i have about a hundred of them. I used to take them out of the Corps figures, they are the same

And this week they have received one of the Ghost Hawk (Sky hawk) with Lift Ticket and the Stingraider (water Moccasin) with Copperhead. He is selling them for 28+ tax each.

I received an email the other day, From a guy that has a lot of pictures and stuff on yojoe.com. Named Patrick Stewart. He said that the tail on my shark is the standard issue tail, and that the one that should be with my shark is blue.

Only vintige one I saw their was a customized 1992 gijoe hall of fame destro figure. I heard lots of bad things about that place also. Another place i found to get 25th annivasary figures, is Planet Hobby in the Square One mall, missasaga. They are kinda pricy their though, and i have had bad luck thith them and vintage figures, eg. Snow Cat was glues at the seam because the clips were broken. The torso for the driver was glued to the crotch and legs didn't move. permnatly sitting, and we got charged $60 for it oh well. It was the thought from a friend that doesn't know anything about gi joes.

Sorry the store is called Retro Rocket. Its located in Cambridge on the corner of Bishop and King. And I didn't mean start of the line as in vintage gi joes, but the start of the 25th line.

I was looking in a store here in Cambridge that I have never been in, and to my surprise they have almost a full wall dedicated to the gi joe 25th ann. figures. Lots of the newer waves and ones that go all the way back to the beginning of the line. Example, cobra trooper the older ones are rerelease but still and all the cards are the American cards the store is on the corner of bishop and king and its called retro rocket the single carded figures are 9.95 and the comic packs start at 15.99,  23.00 for black headed destro comic pack and the vehicles are 23.00 they also have the dvd packs and he has the tru exclusive troop builder packs on order

General Joe Talk / Re: Black Friday Report

I also was in the states for black Friday. I hit the stores by the Lewiston border Walmart, Target and Kmart i managed to find 2 clear wraith variants at Walmart. But upon entry to the store, the ppl in the line trampled the walmart worker that was opening the door. So as i was helping the worker i missed out on dance revolution for my daughter. :( By the time i got to target i had missed out on the $63 battle pack. but managed to get the conquest and rattler.
