Winter time - 2004 Ford Escape.
Summer time - 1990 Chev Celebrity Wagon with a dent in the side and a leaky tire. She's my old girl. As long as I get from point A to B I am happy.

I just started reading these and I'm blown away!

The standard storyline is average.  I like it being a reboot - now I get to see a modern take on a classic angle without it going TO THE EXTREEME like every other series.  I especially like that people are getting shot up and dying - makes the Joes seem a little more mortal and believeable.

GI Joe: Cobra - this is hands-down the best comic I've read in a long, long time.  (Yo) Joe or no Joe, the neo-noir take this series is following is pure aces.  The art is a little weak, in some of the action sequences, but the writing and narration is golden.  I've never been the biggest fan of Chuckles, but he shines in this story.  It's a fantastic espionage, spy-thriller and secret-agent story that fits perfectly into the Joe mythos and Chuckles' character.  I can't say enough good things about this book - I hope they keep it up for a long, long time.

I agree, the comic is really well done. It is my favourite of the 3 series'.

Hi.

I just so happen to be an insurance broker and perhaps I can give you a few tips. The real answer to your question is that it depends on your insurance company. Some companies ask for appraisals and some don't. It all depends on your collection and value of items. Personally, I have a separate rider on my house policy that covers my toys. I think I am using a $15,000 limit and my insurance is currently through Intact (formerly ING Canada). The only stipulation on my coverage is that no one item is over $500. I don't have anything that high valued but if I did I should just be able to schedule on just the one item by itself. The only think I had to do was send my company a few pictures so they got the idea of what I am insuring. I think my rider costs me about $200 a year or somewhere in there. My coverage is on an All Risk form. aka Comprehensive Form. You don't want Broad Form coverage on a personal home or tenants policy. Broad Form sounds good but it isn't great. Although, when it comes to commercial insurance Broad Form and All Risk are the same thing. How is that for confusing? No wonder people don't like dealing with insurance.

You may want to talk to your broker and find out if they can shop your policy and try and find another company that will insure your collection.
Hopefully, this helps you out a bit.

Someone have to say it, so I will. I was not sold and I'm still not.

Teenagers, dressed in black Power Ranger suits, helped by a Robocop armors won't give me my childhood GI Joe  ::)

It may be a good Sci-Fi movie, but it will be strange to hear GI Joe character's names all the time. But, since it's a Sci-Fi movie, all names and places are just fiction and unrelated with reality  :P

The GI Joe line has so many cool vehicles (like Flight pod, SNAKE, VAMP, AWE, APC, HISS, FIrebats and many many more!) do it really needs James Bond's mini Caravan with hidden missiles and other gadgets?

The movie we will see and nothing related to the core GI Joe line that has made is success between 1982 and 1987, and so far far away from the GI Joe in the 60s and 70s.

That is why I don't like what I see. And before someone ask, no I didn't like Transformers the movie either. I didn't get what Megatron was supposed to transform in... was it a spaceship with nails and  teeth ???

I'm old I guess!

Martin

Ya, what he said.

This is awesome so far! This is great for us older fans. I hope it goes over well and they decide to make a regular series out of it. I would not tone it down for the younger kids. They are going to watch it either way so they may as well make it for the geezers. If parents don't want their kids to watch it they can change the channel. Family Guy is probably on the other channel.

I would love to go but alas I am way to far away.

You're near Sudbury right?

That's a SHORT drive compared to some distances people are going!

Heck, we have some Americans coming 8 or 9 hours away!

And Sid, a visit from Snake-Eyes or Storm Shadow is always welcome.

No, I am way past Sudbury. I am in Northwestern, ON. I am about a 18-20 hour drive to Hamilton. My wife is from Niagara Falls and while I would have a place to stay it is just too far. I would be there in a heartbeat if I lived closer. Maybe one year I will book some time off and come. Unfortunately, I will miss the exclusive figs as well. :(

I have picked up all of the new stuff as well. I think it is great so far. I also picked up the first two volumes of the original series. Good stuff. I like being a kid again.

This figure scares me. I am going to have to go into the movie and pretend I know nothing about GIJOE.

I don't like the "massive" big gun, however they gray one looks like it can be assembled or used as three individual guns.

I do like the look of the figure though.
Not my Destro from when I was a kid, but a nice update.

Ya, what is up with all those damn big guns. They are just ridiculous. They drive me crazy.

I like the movie figures.
Hopefully since they're base on the movie, they'll be easier to get than the 25th line.

My guess is that they will be easier to find. It seems Walmart stocks toys based on what movie is out.

The movie figs don't look that good from the pictures. I will have to see them in person before buying them. I dislike the big crazy weapons as well. I guess if I was a kid again maybe I would think the big weapons were cool. I now wonder what the movie will be like.
