General Joe Talk / Help With Costume
« on: October 30, 2010, 06:59:10 PM »
So, due to a sudden change in plans, I may have to dress up as something other than what I had planned.  Pulling off a V1 Duke won't take too much, but any ideas on a quick and easy bandolier?  A grenade would be pretty easy to make for it.

Off Topic / Marvel Universe Figures - Rollback to $6.92 at Wal-Mart
« on: September 28, 2010, 01:49:22 PM »
When most action figures hit $9.92 , it gave me the impetus to stop collecting lines like SW and Marvel Universe.

I went into WM today and I found that the MU figs have been rolled back to $6.92.  Picked up Mystique and Captain Britain.  Want to find a Ghost Rider.

Got my part of the 2010 CJCon deal - my comic for his straight arm Scarlett.  As promised, great condition - I have to say, to be holding a figure I first got in the fall of 82 was very wild.  The fact that she is in such great shape made it almost surreal.

Thanks!

Items Wanted / DCIH Booster Gold
« on: September 01, 2010, 01:17:21 PM »
I'm looking for the 3.75" Booster Gold (from the Infinite Heroes line).  He came in a six pack called "OMAC Attack".  I know some of these hit Winners and am wondering if anyone has seen these kicking around.

Here's a link to an auction that features a set:

General Joe Talk / POC Wave 2 Hitting US Retail
« on: August 25, 2010, 07:55:52 AM »
I'm sure it's old news, but Wave 2 is hitting retail in the US now.  If the same timeline holds as for wave 1, we are looking at about a month before it gets here.

Off Topic / Sears Christmas Wish Book 2010
« on: August 19, 2010, 06:00:36 AM »
Not that it is any great surprise, but there appears to be no GIJoe product in this years Wish Book.

Actually, the whole toy section seems to be a little weaker this year.

General Joe Talk / US Con is at the End of March
« on: August 10, 2010, 01:55:36 PM »
Mike - I guess you get your weekend back.  Not that I want to miss Free Comic Book Day.

The US Con is March 31-April 3.  Sounds like a fine 40th b-day gift to me......I'll be the one in black.

Off Topic / Need Help With Places to Shop in TO
« on: July 29, 2010, 09:09:18 AM »
So I have now booked a room and the family is likely coming with me - wife, daughter and 3 year old going shopping.

The question - where are there some good shops to get back to school clothes in TO?  Outlet malls, etc.?

General Joe Talk / SDCC

A few things out there:
A nice set of gallery shots posted by The Fighting 1:18:
http://www.fighting118th.com/2010/07/22 ... joe-booth/

Included are a Cobra Shock Trooper, Rocket Launcher toting Duke and ANOTHER Snake-Eyes (4 waves of POC, 3 versions of Snakes - that seems about normal....).

They also have shots of the dios:

Action Figure Pics has posted a summary of the GIJoe panel:
http://www.actionfigurepics.com/2010/07 ... ics.com%29

This part I find hard to beleive:
"Heard on the floor: I’m not sure how big of a grain of salt to take with this, but the buzz on the show floor is that Hasbro had planned to also talk about the toy line for Renegades at the panel, but that executives put the kibosh on it in the moments leading up to the panel. The rumored reason – because there’s a lot of uncertainty with regards to Joe toys after the performance of the Rise of Cobra figures. I think we’re talking about a boulder-sized grain of salt here."

Although Hasbro now has a TV channel, the fact that their bread and butter is toy manufacturing, so I would expect this rumour to be false.  Then again, if they keep putting stuff out like POC, it's all good.
