General Joe Talk / GIJoe Monopoly - 7.99
« on: May 28, 2010, 08:40:28 PM »
My beloved local Movie Gallery is closing.  Last week I saw 2 GIJoe Monopoly games at $30 each.  Today, they were $7.99.

Anyone want the other one?  They also had James Bond Monopoly at the same price.

I figure I'll bring the game to the line and see if anyone wants to play while in line.

I went to the London Wal-mart Supercenter and found that Bravo Vehicles are marked down to $10, and Alpha $8.  Picked up Ice Dagger, Crimson Dagger and Sky Sweeper for $28 total.  And a spare Kamukura...............

Can't say I agree with all of them, but not a bad list.

General Joe Talk / C2E2 GIJoe Panel
« on: April 19, 2010, 10:45:32 AM »
I'm sure you'll likely find better sources of info out on the net, but here's what I picked up from ther Joe panel at C2E2 (Andy Schmidt (editor), Robert Atkins (artist), artist Klaus Sherwinski, writer Mike Costa:

GIJoe RAH starts as a regular series as of 156 in July after FCBD 155.5 (which is less than 2 weeks away).  Pick up where it left off written by Larry.

They are very excited about hearts and mind and showed Spirit's new look - much less stereotypical native American, he had short hair, a bandana and what looked to be a white t-shirt.

Costa wanted Zartan for GIJ:Cobra, but Chuck Dixon apparently had a more exciting take which will be appearing soon in Origins.

Serpentor is coming back in a different way.

Max Brooks is very excited about his Hearts and Minds series.

It was my first Comic Con and very well run - just like CanJoeCon, only slightly bigger.

Thats' most of the high points.  They are redesigning looks and trying to modernize everyone.  It was short and sweet and to the point.  I would have asked about more Stalker, but I wanted to hit the Batman:Reborn panel as well :shifty:.

Message Board News / Ask Hasbro your questions?
« on: February 26, 2010, 08:42:05 AM »
Are we doing another Q&A anytime soon?

If so, here's a few I have:

Will there be a POC Stalker (thanks for the Resolute Stalker though ;D)?

Why are the actor likenesses being changed - image rights or fan outcry?

With the announcement that Larry Hama will continue his GIJoe run as of the FCBD 155.5, will we be looking more 25th Anniversary stuff or updated looks for the characters from that "era"?

As for my last question, it makes we wonder if the comic relaunch date on FCBD has anything to do with the date choice for the US Con?

General Joe Talk / GIJoe Original Series Relaunch
« on: February 20, 2010, 10:04:54 PM »
http://toynewsi.com/news.php?catid=9&itemid=15480

One of the books available for FCBD 2010 will GIJoe 155.5 - continuing where the Marvel series left off.  Written by Larry Hama, "continues his classic G.I. JOE run right here, and RELAUNCHES THE ORIGINAL SERIES!".

I have to admit, I quit around issue 135 or so when it began to feature Ninja Force as the lead but I have enjoyed his GIJoe:Origins issues.

The \'Show\' Room / Display Tips
« on: February 07, 2010, 08:35:04 AM »
When you show your figures on display, do you always attach their accessories?  I'm worried their hands will stretch.  I'm tempted to bag them in a small Zip-Lock with filecard and accessories.

« on: February 02, 2010, 10:33:02 AM »
One of my favourite podcasts has a few guys running a Saturday nihgt Skype.  It's a time to get a punch of guys together on-line and talk comics on a conference call.

What about for this board?  Would anyone be interested in doing the same?  Just hook and talk once a and a while?
