General Joe Talk / Inventory
« on: February 01, 2010, 05:36:56 AM »
Does anyone know of a nice, current inventory list of 3-3/4" stuff?  I'd like to put mine together.

Did anyone release a guide for Joes past 94 with accessory pictures?

Any help would be appreciated.  Have an original Lowlight if interested and a few other traders.

Off Topic / DCIH - $3 at Wal-Mart

There's a wave of these guys they are clearing out at a Wal-Mart near me.  For $3, you can get black or blue bats, OMAC, Supes, Hal Jordan, Qwardian, Sinestro, Manhunter, Green Arrow, Jay Garrick.  May be more I cannot remember.

Hasbro in planning to bring back the Micronauts!  J.J. Abrams may be doing a film.

I still have a few of the original toys (or at least parts) as well as a couple of the rereleased figures.  Now, if they can only figure out  way to get Bug back with the rest of the crew.....

Picked up Kamakura, Crimson Neo-Viper and Pit Commando (figured the only way I would get the latter before Kronz was to look outside of London).

I have been buying since 82.  I have about 600+ figures since the start.  Many vehicles as well.  Some MOC stuff.  A few European exclusives and some convention stuff.  Basically, the older stuff was well played with, so as the toys are older, the more likely they are in rougher shape.  From the 90s up, everythins is likely in very good condition +.

Often I struggle with having this stuff sitting around.  I purged a bunch of TF stuff years ago.

If I were to seel such a collection, what would be the best way?  Ebay (likely)?  On boards?  I'd sooner sell it as one lot, but what makes more sense?

Hanve't committed yet, just looking at options.  It's not that I need the money right now (it would just go to my mortage free by 40 plan), just thinking about cleaning it out.

Off Topic / Fort Eustis
« on: July 26, 2009, 09:07:06 AM »
Fort Eustis is a base in Virginia that is the home of the US Army Transportation Corps.  They have a museum on the base that shows the history of U.S. military transportation.  One of my favourite stops on the trip.

You can see with some of the displays where the ideas for many concept vehicles came frmo in the Joeverse.

I put a bunch of pics on my Facebook page for those who want to see them.

General Joe Talk / TRU U.S. BBQ and Firefly
« on: July 19, 2009, 09:50:29 PM »
I picked up the Toys'R'Us exclusive Barbeque and Firefly at a TRU in Newport News today for $5 each.  BBQ looks to be a straight repaint.  Firefly looks good - removable goggles and harness with all sorts of goodies for the modern day saboteur.

Ontario / ROC at Sears

Following a tip from a fellow board member, I went to the Sears Masonville in London.  They had the Shipwreck/Stone wave.  $9.99.

Picked up Stone, Shipwreck, HD in reactive armour, Neo Viper, Cover Girl, Accelerator Suit Ripcord, HD in green fatigues, Deep Six, and Zartan.  Already have Breaker and didn't see base camo Scarlett.

Travellin\' JoeCanuck / Snowbank in NYC
« on: June 28, 2009, 06:51:24 PM »
I took my Snowbank to NYC last December.  Many of my pics didn't turn out well (brand new camera with autofocus) - and I'm not much of a photographer.

Here's what I have:

From left to right:
Top of the Empire State Building, Times Square, another shot at ESB and at the front steps of the Museum of Modern Art (perhaps the highlight of the trip - not just because admission was free if you wished).  It was a great trip all around.

I'll likely be bringing him with us to Virginia Beach this summer - hopefully I'll get nicer pics.

Not as big a deal as it sounds, but you can win a trip to Hollywood if you show your Scene card when buying tickets for TF2 or ROC.

For anyone who didn't know, you can sign up for free and get 10% of concessions and accrue points for free movies.
