Nice little weekend haul
« on: November 20, 2005, 07:03:30 PM »

So this weekend there was a small toy/comic/card show in Montreal, and I decided to check it out Saturday. 5$ entry. Most stuff was just crap. McFarlane Toys, Star Wars and collectible cards.
However, one guy had a lot of Joes on a table in boxes and baggies. I ended up picking out Gnawgahyde (missing gun bipod), a third Eel (v2), Fast Draw (missing blue tube), Target-exclusive Hit&Run, Iceberg v1 and Zandar, all for 55$. Not bad, it averaged out at under 10$ a figure.  :D
When I got home, I realized that Fast Draw's backpack was incorrect (it had two right missile holders) so I emailed the dealer about it, he told me to come back and he'd try to find a replacement piece, or just exchange the whole thing for an item of equal value.
So I show up again today, and he's brought more Joes too. I end up trading in the Fast Draw for Mortal Kombat Kano and Reptile, and I manage to score a WORMs (missing antenna), a Star Viper (without gold, weird), a Strato-Viper, Lift-Ticket (without mic) and a complete Budo for only 30$.

All in all a good haul, and the guy had lots of other cool figures and was real friendly, so if anyone wants to check his stock, he's doing a show in Longueil next weekend.

Instead of creating another thread, I will post my haul today.  I hardly do this but Toy Traders just floored me.  It takes alot to impress me. Carl (aka Spillspleen) took me over there today.  Nobody in the GI JOE community can touch the dios I saw in this store.  They are freaking amazing. I am planning on going back tommorrow (if I have time) and ask the owner if could video record some of the dios.  They are just that good.

Funny, they have a 4 dollar bin.  But loaded with army builders.

This is what I got for $4 a piece (not bad if you don't care for accessories)

I had to put other army builders back as there was way too many of them.

Nice haul Pete!

Yeah, I was damn impressed when I was at toy traders a couple years ago. Do they still have the huge moon dio up with all the T.A.R.G.A.Ts? What about the tower of Terror Dromes?

I picked up a handful of 90's carded figs for about $10 a piece when I was there, if I recall correctly.

Without a doubt, the dioramas at Toy Traders are something to behold. But as far as their stock and selection go, i don't think they're anything that great. If half the stuff that was in the dios was for sale, then i'd change my tune but as it is, they tease you with the good stuff and sell you overpriced other stuff. ;)

That appears to be 2 Terrordromes and 6 Firebats... and I have a feeling that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Do they have Transformers set up?
