Ace was part of the original team?!
« on: June 16, 2006, 08:41:17 AM »

I read the GI Joe declassified comic yesterday and I was surprised to noticed that Ace was part of the original team... At least he was affiliated with the original 13 joes from the start.

I don't want to spoil anything for those who haven't read it yet.

Interesting...I've been meaning to check out that series.

BTW, Larry Hama will be at the Silver Snail on July 8th to promote Declassified.

I think he was support for the team while they had no official fighter pilot of their own (or fighter jets for that matter). It makes sense that, as a pilot so good he qualifies for the GI Joe team, he would be the guy they trust enough to help out, which logically earned him his later spot on the team.

Loop, can you do me a favour? Kidnap Larry Hama and bring him to Montreal.

If you read the original Snake Eyes trilogy many people beleive the Huey pilot that picked up Stalker, Storm Shadow, and SE, was non other than Wild Bill.  I also believe Doc appeared in the comic as a medic before he was actually made part of the team.

I picked up the comic while I was bored in Vancouver last night.  I really enjoyed reading this comic in the hotel room.

But I still don't like that Chuckles is in it.  Ace I can accept as he was released a year later in the GI Joe linkage.
