Any news on Hasbrotoyshop shipping to Canada?
« on: September 13, 2008, 11:12:25 AM »

Hey guys,

Hasbrotoyshop had said they'd start shipping up north to us in Spring 2008....it is now Fall 2008. I haven't been following joe news too closely lately and was wondering if anyone had any info on this.

thanks

I wouldn't hold your breath either.  When HTS first started, I asked one of the marketing managers (Greg Lombardi?) at Botcon about Canada and got the same response.  "We are working on it"

It seems like a nice idea, but I really don't think it will happen.  I don't know if it is just the same weird attitude about shipping to Canada that other US corporations and Ebay sellers have, or if it is just a lack of caring.

Either way, it has become a joke.  If companies like L.L. Bean can ship to Canada, it shouldn't be a stretch to believe a much bigger company like Hasbro could as well.  Then again, hearing the horror stories of how items are shipped, I don't know if it is a blessing or not that we don't have the option to order.

Let me guess.  Some date in the future, but nothing specific that can be put on a calendar?

You know, there's a Hasbro Warehouse in Montreal...  if, at the very least, they could keep a stock of product there and any orders to Canada simply ship out of that centre.  When they're out, they post a message on each item's checkout saying "not available for Canadian Addresses".  Doubly, Montreal is a entry point for Canadian Customs...  it wouldn't be hard for them to re-stock, sitting so close to Customs.

I think it's very possible, they're just dragging their heels.

10 years ago, ( and it might have been 13+) I tried to order some 12" Action Man sets from Hasbro--and was frustrated because they would not ship to Canada.
The response from them was they would be offering shipment north  either "soon" or "next year"--and every time the question was made the answer was the above, and coupled with a "we are working on it".

That was , as I said, 10 years ago.

I've given up on them. They are not working on it and they are not interested in doing so.
If it happens...........if...........I'd be VERY surprised.
