I saw this stop animation a really long time ago, and yes...I'm a fan of John Carpenter's The Thing! I actually liked it so much, that I even bought the Dark Horse's unofficial comic book sequels "The Thing from another world" & "Climate of Fear" when they came out on newstands and let me tell you: these are just as suspensful and bone-chilling as the movie! Now that I rethink it, it's true that Outback does bear a strong resemblance to John McReady in the movie...
