Avengers Toys listed on TRU website.
« on: January 27, 2012, 11:44:00 AM »

Here's the link:

Looks like some really interesting stuff, along with a ton of "re-released" items with a new paint job.  The Quinjet looks really great, unfortunately it looks like it will suffer from "Skystriker syndrome" with only 1 pilot seat.  Oh well, can't wait for better pics of the Helicarrier (and price).

Also, it looks like a new vehicle to me (Ground Assault Vehicle) with Captain America.  Interesting look, but I would need to see it in person to really get a feel for if I like it or not.

Oh, it also says February 26th is the estimated shippind date.

It's funny that Hawkeye doesn't look like Hawkeye.

Looks like he doesn't even have a bow and arrow. Weak sauce.

He has a crossbow!!!!  Isn't that good enough (end of sarcasm).

Actually the Hawkeye figure is the comic Ultimates universe version.  As is the Battle Hammer Thor.

They've reinvented Hawkeye's costume in the 616 universe to be closer to the movie version.

After the recent movies, every kids must already have all the main characters. Probably in various styles too.
Like I said elsewhere, Cap and Iron Man are still pretty easy to find and Thor has been warming the pegs ever since he came out.

If only there was a G.I. Joe movie coming out could we look forward to uninspired figures warming the shelves.

Ok, saw these bad boys in person today at TRU.

Have to say I am disappointed.  Price is too high and frankly most figures don't look that good in person.  The vehicles are pretty good.  That tank thing with Cap is pretty tiny, and definitely not worth $25.  The Iron Man repaint of the Justice Jet is actually pretty nice and I will get one on sale.  No sign of the bigger vehicles.

Retaliation figs and vehicles do seem uninspired, to be sure.  I am guessing Hasbro is nervous about going out too far on a limb this time.
