The \'Show\' Room / Re: Finally, HQ!

There is some glue detritus where they glued in a few of their broken stockade pieces.  Is there a good way to dissolve the glue, without damaging the set?

Depends on the glue. Try soaking a piece in water for a couple days first since it's the least likely to damage the plastic.

Acetone (nail polish remover) is the other common option but it may melt the plastic.

I knew a lot of guys in my home town that tried to get into the Salmon fishery and it's a killer. I knew guys that were told if they ever fished for a living they were likely to lose their fingers due to the cold.

You watch Deadliest Catch? What do you think of it? I know it's not the same fishery but you must have some of the same experiences.

General Joe Talk / Re: U.S.S. Flagg

I don't HAVE an urge. the 'big ticket' payset i would probably most like to get is the TTPB, or the Mobile Command Centre, if you count that as a playset not a vehicle. i don't care for the Terrordrome, particularly, or the Defiant. I used to drool over the MCC in the Argos catalogue as a kid, though.

The only thing that saves the Flagg and TTBP is that they come apart for easy storage. The HQ also has this nice feature. That MCC, Defiant and Terrordrome need their own zip code no matter how you store them and if you can't easily store them they get dirty or busted.

TTBP is a good choice if you've got the HQ. Small parts, easy to ship and store, hard to break so parts are plentiful thus cheap.

I was just reading about how there's a bumper crop of lobster this year!

http://money.cnn.com/2013/08/16/news/economy/shrimp-prices/index.html

Is it better for you if the prices are high? I guess only if you're the one catching 'em at that time.

Items Wanted / Re: Finishing out my 82-84 collection

Do you have a tow rope for your Wolverine? If so how did you get it? I've been looking and it's really tough to find intact?

Are you only looking for complete vehicles or parts vehicles? I have a few parts vehicles on your list so if you're missing parts only:

2 X CLAW
Water Moccasin
WHALE
Sky Hawk

I also have:
Scrap Iron
Recondo
Cutter
Thunder
Copperhead

Figures are pretty rough except for Copperhead, only backback for Recondo unless you like Weapons Pack weapons.

OH NO!

Someone offered me a near complete Flagg for $500. This was the one ARAH vehicle I had decided early on I didn`t have room for. No box but unapplied stickers, Canadian instructions and Keel Haul with gun & FC.

Someone convince me I don`t need this!

ARAH all the way for me since they were what I had back in the day (still do in most cases) and the show really made me a fan. latinjoe22 is right about affordability. Loose stuff is pretty cheap barring a handful of vehicles and figures. Most `82-`83 figures are about $30, `84-86 are about $25, later ones drop off pretty quickly. You can always get lots as well to lower the averages. It`s also nice to have a target. There`s no more ARAH Joes coming out, you know what a complete collection entails and can plan accordingly.

I considered collecting the 25th aniv. stuff but when I saw they released so many exclusives I figured I`d never be happy since I could never catch `em all.

It's a used toy store with the coolest diorama's I've ever seen.

British Columbia / Anyone on the West Coast collecting?

I meet local sellers on Craigslist (who are getting out of collecting) and a couple people at Game Stars but isn't there anybody on this forum in BC?

Don't feel too bad. No one has PM'd me for any of my stuff either.

Of course I may be asking too much...

Craigslist is a good place to post as well. I've bought a few things locally through CL though I find local people always overcharge, at least here on the West Coast. (At least me overpriced stuff is really nice and complete)
