Is the Cobra an original character created for the con exclusive?

It is a good question, but one of the clue is: "Originally 1983, many after". So that's why I said HISS drive or Rip-IT. It could only be one or the other...

(Has anyone even asked if they are vintage ARAH style?)
Yes, I did. But no answer... yet  :'(. I prefer vintage style. But since Hasbro is involve, I will guess it is 25th style. The GI Joe club is still making vintage style, but Hasbro as made the switch... Mike?

So things point toward Lightfoot--he has gloves and this is the last know version of him.

But he wasn't a driver...

Quote from: "THE Mike?"
But yes, this guy has been a driver before.

Hi, I was thinking about getting a table at the Joe con and was wondering about availablity for a table and cost. I am good friends with GSmiley here in Ottawa. My girlfriends family lives out that way so I was thinking about it and am looking for more info. I would be selling mostly vintage vehicles, I want to make sapce around here. I have lots of complete unbroken vintage vehciles to sell. Not sure if I would bring figures yet though I do have thousands. Would also have vehicle parts and file cards,

But yes, this guy has been a driver before.

But I will say one has the Hiss Drivers head - so you're "kinda" close. LOL.

Hiss Drivers head, Mmmm... that narrow the options to:
  • HISS driver  :P
  • Rip-It

And when we know that Rip It was released as part of the 2007 International G.I.Joe Convention (Atlanta) packaged with Ralph "Steeler" Pulaski...

Does it means we will get:
  • Rip-It
  • Steeler

Steeler is a driver and he wears gloves. BUT he was made (twice) in the 25th line... BUT (again) without using the name Steeler (it was Ralph Pulaski). No, it can't be him... :-

Xhairs was quick! Thanks!

Backstop
Hot Seat
Ghostrider
Rumbler
Heavy Metal
Tollbooth

Backstop: He is the only Canadian member of G.I.Joe (made in 1987).
[s:23w3bgkc]Hot Seat[/s:23w3bgkc]: The hint says: not seem for over 20 years, he was made in 1989. So I won't say yes.
Ghostrider: Maybe
[s:23w3bgkc]Rumbler[/s:23w3bgkc]: In 1993, Rumbler was available at the G.I.Joe Convention as a convention exclusive, so no.
[s:23w3bgkc]Heavy Metal[/s:23w3bgkc]: With the name "Heavy Metal", your are right. But he was renamed "Rampage" in 1989 and 2003. So no again.
Tollbooth: Maybe

So, like Xhairs, I choose Backstop because:
  • He is the only Canadian member of GI Joe
  • He is a driver and wears glove
  • He wasn't seen in the past 20 years

JoeCanuck Trading Cards / Re: Thanks for the cards!

With my signature, I'm already making marketing for the Canadian con on JoeCustom and YoJoe.

I guess I'm too early, but I like to plan in advance!

Are you kidding me?

Every year there's always a couple of people that say they would like to come - but can't.

Do you belong to any other boards? Post the info on there - you may want to give them the info on the Canadian Joe Con to fill them in first. ;-)

Lucky for you there's "someone" looking for people to drive down with him and split gas!

Apparently, getting a carload of Joe Fans from Montreal to Hamilton seems to be less easy than what "someone" said  :shifty:

I'm willing to take questions on it.
You can ask about "THE" figure that I'm dropping hints on, or the other items. Just be clear which you're asking about.

We all know the game when we were young and had only 3 wishes... We all tried to think how to tell our wishes so we can maximize their use... So how, in 1 question, we can get the maximum info from Mike about the convention exclusive? Here is how: What parts were used to make the convention exclusives? For example:
Head: Cobra soldier V1
Arms: Airborne V2
etc.

I'm guessing one of the exclusive will be a vehicle, like the HISS  :shifty:

I also got them. It was great to read those stories! I will share those cards with people around the world!  ;D

By the way, my girlfriend saw them and she asked me what was the purpose of the cards. I said it was to promote joecanuck.com and the yearly Canadian convention. She didn't see the website address and the back of the card. I have to admit I had to look twice before I notice it.

Maybe it could help to:
  • Add spaces between "2008" and "joecanuck.com" (so the website is not 2008joecanuck.com. We all know that, but the cards are supposed to be sent to people that don't know the site...)
  • Add "www." before joecanuck.com (to make emphasis on the fact that this is a website)
  • Write "www.joecanuck.com" in bold

That's all!

Thanks again!

Now come the cool hints:
Originally, it was 1983, with many more later.

I was focusing on this: "I haven't been seen in over 20 years". But I forgot the other clue: "Originally, it was 1983, with many more later." That can refers to:
  • Cobra commander
  • Destro
  • Duke
  • Snake eyes

All of the above were seen many time over the past 20 years. And if the Viper pilot is the one for Cobra, this will narrow our choice between Duke and Snake Eyes... my vote is for Snake Eyes  ;D

how about a free one if we get it right. lol.

ok here are mine.
Cobra Viper Pilot
Recoil
Gnawgahyde
Scoop

I'm also pretty sure about the Viper Pilot because we were 3 suggesting his name (pdaat, xhairs and me) and Mike never replied specifically about him. That is called: "Reversed engineering"

As for the GI joe fig, indeed, Recoil and Scoop are not bad choices at all, like The Fridge and Tollbooth.

FYI - the 25th line has missed MUCH more than the few you mentioned.

I know, but some like Dr. Mindbender or Sgt. Slaughter were release many times in the last 20 yeras. That is why I didn't list them.

So, for Cobra, I will guess with a character we never saw before... Pythona (Since we already got Nemesis Enforcer!

For GI Joe, hum, I would say St. Slaughter (but we got many versions of him in the past 20 years...).
