I'm willing to take questions on it.
You can ask about "THE" figure that I'm dropping hints on, or the other items. Just be clear which you're asking about.

We all know the game when we were young and had only 3 wishes... We all tried to think how to tell our wishes so we can maximize their use... So how, in 1 question, we can get the maximum info from Mike about the convention exclusive? Here is how: What parts were used to make the convention exclusives? For example:
Head: Cobra soldier V1
Arms: Airborne V2
etc.

I'm guessing one of the exclusive will be a vehicle, like the HISS  :shifty:

All joes are drivers in some form. ;-)

Pilots are drivers of their planes/ships/copters.
You can "drive" a boat, or a hovercraft.
You can drive cars and tanks.
Heck, even Sarge was a driver!

But yes, this guy has been a driver before.

(didn't Keel Haul drive the Flagg - and then come out on a single card?)
Hmmmmmmmmmm

You honestly expect me to tell you all the parts used?

No. But I will say one has the Hiss Drivers head - so you're "kinda" close. LOL.

Oh, and if you read back, we said we scrapped that idea for the Hiss tank. Sorry.

Hiss Drivers head, Mmmm... that narrow the options to:
  • HISS driver  :P
  • Rip-It

And when we know that Rip It was released as part of the 2007 International G.I.Joe Convention (Atlanta) packaged with Ralph "Steeler" Pulaski...

Does it means we will get:
  • Rip-It
  • Steeler

Steeler is a driver and he wears gloves. BUT he was made (twice) in the 25th line... BUT (again) without using the name Steeler (it was Ralph Pulaski). No, it can't be him... :-

Xhairs was quick! Thanks!

Quote from: "xhairs"
Backstop
Hot Seat
Ghostrider
Rumbler
Heavy Metal
Tollbooth

Backstop: He is the only Canadian member of G.I.Joe (made in 1987).
[s:23w3bgkc]Hot Seat[/s:23w3bgkc]: The hint says: not seem for over 20 years, he was made in 1989. So I won't say yes.
Ghostrider: Maybe
[s:23w3bgkc]Rumbler[/s:23w3bgkc]: In 1993, Rumbler was available at the G.I.Joe Convention as a convention exclusive, so no.
[s:23w3bgkc]Heavy Metal[/s:23w3bgkc]: With the name "Heavy Metal", your are right. But he was renamed "Rampage" in 1989 and 2003. So no again.
Tollbooth: Maybe

So, like Xhairs, I choose Backstop because:
  • He is the only Canadian member of GI Joe
  • He is a driver and wears glove
  • He wasn't seen in the past 20 years

I consider 1989 as twenty years ago.

Just sayin'..... you should maybe consider it 20 years ago as well.  :shifty:

The figures I came up with for 20 years ago that meet the criteria are Lightfoot, HotSeat(who was sold in 1990 as well) and Repeater(he only wears one glove though).
So things point toward Lightfoot--he has gloves and this is the last know version of him.

I think Backstop for the Joe is a good guess:
I haven't been seen in over 20 years.  Check.
I'm not part of the 25th line of figures.  Check.
I'm not in the movie.  Check.
I'm an actual Hasbro G.I. Joe Character (not made up like Black Ice, Snowbank, etc).  Check
I wear gloves. Check.
Driver. Check.
(I'm forgetting a clue that is also a "check"...)

As for the Cobra, someone was guessing HISS driver or Rip-It based on the head that you presume was used.
I suspect the Cobra is an original character.  Not sure if Mike's taking questions on both figures (I'm feeling that there are two figures - no vehicle) but I'll ask "Is the Cobra an original character created for the con exclusive?"

(Has anyone even asked if they are vintage ARAH style?)

It is a good question, but one of the clue is: "Originally 1983, many after". So that's why I said HISS drive or Rip-IT. It could only be one or the other...

Yes, I did. But no answer... yet  :'(. I prefer vintage style. But since Hasbro is involve, I will guess it is 25th style. The GI Joe club is still making vintage style, but Hasbro as made the switch... Mike?
