Because the accounting company hasn't been taking Federal and Provincial off my pay, I owe $900 this year. I was expecting to get money back. This is a real kick in the jar.
-
I figured out that 60% of my income and my wife's income are taken in taxes.
Granted - taxes pay my salary. But not your taxes. ;-)
Amazing how that adds up though.

I pay about 30% and got money back. :-)

Am I going to get an asskicking?
-
Nah. You're not Canadian. You get what you pay for.

You get what you pay for.
Not even close.

I made a mistake at first (forgot some deductible) and tought I owed them $900 as well... I redid it and now they owe me... Dodged a big bullet there.
-
This was a good year for me. I got back $995.00. Upgrading my wood stove to a gas stove with the money.
-
Now go buy some shelves to hang in your hallway.
-
I just got the whole story from the accountant. Ends up I'm getting back about $450 in GST, so I'm half as deep in the hole as I thought. Still sucks.
-
At least you don't owe $4500...
-
Are you speaking from experience or just being optimistic?
-
At least you don't owe $4500...
OUCH!
-
4500? It's time to start putting money away into a RRSP. I got 3 grand back as a result and would of had more for a mis calculation I made.

OUC freakin H! I guess Indie rock bands pay a lot better than I thought.
RSP's and RESPs. I have no shortage of ways to hide my government money from the government.

Look at us... once we were running around with a joe in each hands doing shooting sounds and such and now we're talking about taxes... Man..time flies

I think I've lost about that much on the band. Next year I'm writing it all off...
