I was looking around on ebay and came across this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/GI-Joe-G-I-Joe-Cust ... dZViewItem (http://cgi.ebay.com/GI-Joe-G-I-Joe-Custom-Snow-Job-BLACK-ICE_W0QQitemZ6061521909QQcategoryZ2467QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
No it's not our Black Ice figure but Snow Job in black. I found it funny that the seller is located in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Anyone know the seller wolfe254?
-
Interesting. Looking at his other items, I can see that he's improving a lot with each custom. The Jinx is pretty cool.
Mind you, like some people :shifty:
-
Stop picking on me birdboy. I like enamels. The other paints I've used just start to feel sticky/tacky and rub off to fast.
So, uh, what brand of paint are you using? I'm willing to try other paints on smaller projects.
-
You look at this guy's Tripwire (http://http://cgi.ebay.com/GI-Joe-G-I-Joe-Custom-Tripwire-SCOPE_W0QQitemZ6061524124QQcategoryZ2467QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) and tell me he doesn't work for Funskool.
I do like a couple of his figs, actually, especially that Airtight. And I don't think he's trying to horn in on our Black Ice. Just had the same idea, I guess.
-
I just found it odd that he is also from Hamilton, but I could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time and it won't be the last I'm wrong.
-
I've got a spare Black Ice figure from the meet....... should I post him?
I planned on posting the 'official' Black Ice figure anyway at some point, so may as well do it now. (Including the links to Hawks review!).
What do you guys think?
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I have a pretty good idea on who it is. Mainly because I have a customer that WANTED a Black Ice but didn't want to come to the Joe Meet. Then again, I could be 100% wrong.
Someone should email him (via ebay) and invite him to JoeCanuck.
Imagine the shock he'd have to see OUR Black Ice figure!
Mike
-
Done. Invite just sent to him. Be nice to have another customizer back me up in the enamel debate.

Mike
If by post him, you mean mail him to me, then yes!
-
The plan was always this:
If I had one left over from the meet, he would go on ebay.
I owed some 'other' people favors, which is why they ended up with one as well. (Airtight, General Hawk for example).
This last one was always destined for ebay as a way to get 'some' funds for next years Joe Meet.
Sorry!
Mike

There's a thread on the YoJoe message boards about the figure as well. It's making the rounds now. :)
-
The seller (Jon) already responded to my invite. Says he'll check us out. Always good to have new blood on board.

Make with the link before the suspense kills me!

Nice. I wondered when someone was going to post about him over there.
I wonder if that thread will alert more Canadians to this site?
I tossed in my 2 cents over there. And 'pimped' the upcoming auction.
Mike
-
Mike, please post a link to the auction when it starts. I'd like to watch it.
-
Wow. "Bravo" is really a dick isn't he. How dare anyone even seem to use a rare part in a custom.
At least using the casted parts allowed you to have his approval. That was close Mike. I thought that he was going to pwn us... :?
And as for speculation on next years fig? A true Canadian? Does this mean that I will finally be getting the Tommy Hunter - Champion of Socialized Health Care! action figure that I've always wanted?
-
-
Are we allowed to speculate on this? Because I've got a few guesses but I'd hate to ruin Mike's surprise.
-
As long as they aren't serious guesses.

I've voting for Gordie Howe in crystal ball gear.
- Raptor
-
In that case, I think Mike will recreate a longtime fantasy and make a self-custom in Scarlett v1 colours and outfit.
-

I thought that was Tommy Douglas? :?
My guess is Michael J. Fox in Cobra disguise.
-
You know what's odd.
I KNOW what I plan on doing........ but with this thread, I've considered changing my mind and making it a more 'funny' type of character.
Non-Joe
Non-Cobra
Non-Dreadnok
Just..... a guy most Canadians seem to use. ;-)
mike

The maple syrup mascot?
Wait, is there even a mascot for that?
-
on that Yo joe post you guys are talking about which # of Black Ice figure they have. Where is the Numbering system on the figure? Just curious which one i got.
Beeker
-
Beeker, check the bottom on the figure leg. It should tell you the number you got.
-
Well there is some chicken scratching on the bottom of his left foot. It might present #4. Hard to tell thou. Are the numbers perfect or scratched into the figure?
-
They're FAR from perfect - but you don't have #4.
I put them there using a woodburning kit.. it was my first time numbering things, so they do tend to get a little sloppy. ;-)
Turn it around and you should be able to make out the actual number you have.
#1, 2, 3, 4, 5 were all given to those that helped out with it.
-
I thought that was Tommy Douglas? :?
I'm a retard. Tommy Hunter was the variety show host. Does this mean that they are going to take my citizenship away?
-
-

Hmmm, the "Eh, what's it all a boot" guy.
The Lumberjack
Tim "Gay Coffee" Horton
I'm at a loss. What would Shatner, Fox, and Bryan Admas seem to use?
-
South Park's Terrance and Philip based on the TRU Crimson Guard 6 pack Tomax and Xamot figures? You know Pete had to have a fist full of those at one point, which probably Raptor has them now.
-
Of all the nerve. Pluv finally makes the northern walk and calls our coffee gay in his first post.

How about Bret Hart for Joe Canuck?

To my defense I'm a long time lurker and I was merely quoting what I've heard.
-
You know what's odd.
I KNOW what I plan on doing........ but with this thread, I've considered changing my mind and making it a more 'funny' type of character.
Well, I might be in the minority, but I'd much rather get a serious character I can incorporate into my Joe world than a joke-ish character that'll just be a novelty item.

But that's what's so cool about the Joe Meet.
I I decided the next figure would be a tribute to say.... .Bryan Adams (just for Scramble), then it would have to be done in the same style as The Fridge or Sgt. Slaughter - I don't either of those serious in the 'joe world' as they are both real people.
I have a 'serious' one in mind, and a 'non-serious' one in mind.
The non-serious one would cater to both sides - joe or cobra.
The 'serious' one - would be a Joe.
Mike
-
I would hope for a Mountie figure, but then Lanard already did it.
A team of Backstops on the other hand...
Also, the Canadian version of Steeler is from Hamilton. Too bad Pete gave away all his extras.
-

Bryan Adams? Bleh.
And I can believe Sgt. Slaughter could be a Joe. The real Sarge, Robert Remus, was in the Marine Corps and was a drill instructor prior to becoming a wrestler. But my interpretation isn't as over-the-top-superhero as the cartoon character.
I have a 'serious' one in mind, and a 'non-serious' one in mind.
The non-serious one would cater to both sides - joe or cobra.
The 'serious' one - would be a Joe.
Mike
Like I said, I'd be much happier with a serious character like Joe Canuck or Black Ice. But I'm probably in the minority.
A mountie would be nice, like Pete suggested, but who knows if it can be done?
-
A mountie was 'looked into' for the last two years - there's no parts that can be used without a TON of work... and no one wants to THAT much work 20 or 30 times.
Black Ice was born because there was no way to do a Mountie correctly.
Mike
-
I'm gonna guess Tim Horton.
Canadians seem to have an unhealthy obsession with him. . .
-
I would 'NEVER' make a hockey player as a Joe Meet figure.
I'd rather make another Backstop. (But I won't - so don't get your hopes up Ryan!)
Mike
-
Eugene Levy? Come on! He's cool!
-
Now HIM I'd do!
;-)
Ohhh....... maybe I should get Loop to cast the Jack Bauer head.... he's Canadian.... sorta. ;-)
Mike
-
Bob and Doug McKenzie (2-pack exculsive) Can't get more canadian then that.
-
Hey Mike,
Here's an idea, but probably near impossible to mold and make. But some here might have the skills. What about the AVRO ARROW plane as a vehicle exclusive. Could customize an existing Joe or Cobra plane. Just an idea sticking with the canadian theme.
Beeker
-
First Bryan Adams is a consideration. Then Back-Stop isn't. Keep stabbing me, Mike. Eventually I'll die.
-
Now HIM I'd do!
;-)

Mike
OH! I KNOW! I KNOW!
Exclusive "Keifer Sutherland As Backstop" action figure!
-
Hmmm... A possible season one Jack Bauer perhaps?
-
It's Celine Dion, isn't it? Either her or the Canadian Tire Guy.
-
Canadian Tire Guy got the axe (finally!!). So maybe Headless Canadian Tire Guy instead?
We could have "annoying customs guy" who seizes all of our toys when we cross the border.
Or perhaps a Beer Viper, cuz there are some things that Canadians get right that Americans don't.

Like Sir Mix Alot (aka one hit wonder) said "Silicon are made for toys". Anyways, a female character would be good.
