hey anyone driving from downtownish to the joe convention?
I am askng cause there is about 2-3 of us coming from Toronto (dufferin & queen area) and are currently thinking about taking the go train to Hamilton (then a cab to the convention) so that's $18 each for go train (x2 -3) plus cab (what about $10-15) so with gas prices these days, wondered if anyone going would rather us chip in for gas money?
-
I have no problem picking up people. Confirm whether it's 2 or 3 people. Since I am picking up another person from downtown T.O., three people in the back of my Sunfire will be cramped.
One rule I have.
- No smoking in my car (and this includes if you decide to smoke just before getting in the car as the smell still lingers)
-
cool thanks. There'll be two of us, what time are you thinking of going, cause i want to be there early as i am excited (this is my first gi joe convention and i am a huge gi joe geek)
-
Doors open at 10:30. So I figure around 9-9:30 AM.
PM a phone number so I can a heads up once in the the area for pick up.
-
Pete, should we hit dinner, will you be driving these guys home first?

Also, I SERIOUSLY suggest you check the Canadian Idol web site - there's some big block party and audition thing in Toronto the same day as the Joe Meet.
I could just picture you stuck in traffic due to that. :-)
-
Or worse, Jon forcing you to stop so that he can sing in it, and you missing the meet altogether. ;-)
-
-
I'm actually shocked Jon has never gone out for it - as lame as it is - it DOES get people exposure - if I were in a band I'd take every chance to promote myself.
-
Canadian Idol is at Yonge and Dundas. So it's not in the area I have to drive through.
And Canadian Idol is looking for more pop shit singers. Music I can't stand.

yeah, like when you're alone in your car you're not rockin' out to the new Avril....HEY! HEY! YOU! YOU!
-
I'm going to start linking randomly to backyardigans and lazy town songs if you guys don't stop witht he Avril crap. This is not a hollow threat - children's mustic is far more dangerous and addictive than pop.

Raps is starting to like Avril.....
I shoudl make her his Avatar.
*poof*
It's done. :-)
Oh, and Radio guy:

The type of music I make doesn't really appeal to mainstream audiences. Plus my vocal range is about as limited as Grimlock's vocabulary.

Yet still superior to 90% of the Canadian Idol entrants.
- Me Jon, say you guys singing are sucks!

There's also the worst case scenario: what if I win?!?
Ryan Malcolm's star flew so high after he won, then sank so low that he was actually suicidal for a bit.
Canadian Idol: we will use you!
-
Who the hell is Ryan Malcolm?
Outside of Kelly Clarkson, that black guy, and the guy with the lazy eye, I don't know of any other winners anywhere on that 'show'.
-
Ryan Malcolm = the first Canadian Idol winner
lot of good that did him!!! ;D
