The Canadian dollar has broken through parity for the first time since Nov. 25, 1976.

The first official trade at par took place at 10:58 a.m., said David Watt, senior currency strategist at RBC Capital Markets.

?The room is really buzzing and the U.S. dollar is weak across the board,? said Steven Butler, director of foreign-exchange trading at Scotia Capital Inc.

The loonie since retreated from the $1 mark, trading recently at 99.90 cents (U.S.).

Good time for any of you guys going to the Joe Con next week to pick up some US dollars. Then again, at this rate the CND might be worth more than the USD by the time of the con.

Now is a good time to pick up those last 2 MOTH sets I need from the MC group. That and shopping ebay.  ;D

I don't buy too much on evilBay, but now when I do it's awesome that it actually costs less than what I've "bid".  Good times.  Sure there's repercussions for employment and our economy, but the repercusions on my figure collection have been great!  :)

I am enjoying this while it lasts.  It's starting to making up for all the previous years on ebay when I was getting hose.  But there isn;t much I need Joe wise.  So I am getting into other non-toy related items.

As for those companies whining about the high dollar.  Bite me.  You had it great for so many years.  And the Canadian dollar will come back down as history as shown in the past.

Next time it hits 1.10 I swear I'm pulling a thousand out of my emergency funds and getting back $1100.00 USD in return.
