$7.82 a piece I believe it was. Happy hunting.
-
Good news! Was this a supercentre store or a regular store! I will be checking for these figures.
-
I'm not really sure what differentiates the two. Do only the super centers have the expanded grocery isle?
-
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa? That's cool. Sad part is I was just near Walmart and I could have gone in and looked around. Oh well. That's still a good sign. Did you see a lot or just a case or two?

Looked like the remains of a single case.

Who is in Wave 5 again?
-
Who is in Wave 5 again?
Wave 1 (2008)
Snake Eyes Black
Flash
Snow Job
Iron Grenadier Destro
Crimson Guard
-
...and the "extras" from past waves? Who would that be?
-
...and the "extras" from past waves? Who would that be?
Shipwreck, Hooded Cobra Commander & an extra Crimson Guard make 8!
-
I may need to get a hooded CC and IG Destro. Wait... bilingual packaging?

Yes, and very poorly done packaging at that.
-

The super centers have the grocery aisles. My wife was just at our local Wal-mart(regular) with no luck yet, but she said there were a lot of unopened boxes in the aisles. I think our western stores are usually stocked a week later.
What makes the packaging so bad?
-
Got a pic of the packaging?

Got a pic of the packaging?
I just sat down for dinner but will post some pictures shortly. Any specific requests?
Edit: A couple of pics (sorry for the crappy quality).

No picture, ouch. I can appreciate that it is cheaper to mass print a single card rather than character specific cards, but just an explosion looks really empty. And the sticker is pretty weak. But kudos to Hasbro Canada for giving the figures a test run up here. Hopefully this means more to come.
-
That's sort of funny. I wonder how many guys in the USA are going to want our crappy pictureless version. Good news is it's a great template for custom cards.
-
WTF.
That is horrible.
I'm glad I didn't find any. I may pick up one to use as a base for a custom package someday, but I am really not impressed.
I'll be getting mine from the states I guess. Getting screwed on the filecards is one thing, getting screwed with this bulk generic packaging is quite another. Unacceptable.
-
-
Remember when Ninja Turtles first came to Canada? All our cards had pictures of Raphael, rather than each character getting their own card. I think picking a generic character to put on all the cards would have been much better than the empty explosion.
-
I had a flashback of "Who's that Pokemon?" from when the kids use to watch that show. It looks like the before and after picture of "Who's that GI Joe".
-
Christ, Ontario has wave 5 before most of WNY gets them. Most of this region [as far as I've read store reports for] has yet to see wave 4 or 5. A couple sightings a week or two before christmas and nothing NOT bought by scalpers for the flea market since. And I'm so not exaggerating like I wish I was.
You guys might have generic, empty, half-ass packaging but at least y'all have access to them. I'm half tempted to pay the $12 for each one of them from the "dirt mall" market just to finally have them. >:(
And if you free them from the bubbles, its irrelevant anyway, they still army build spectacularly.
-
I think I'm gonna cry :'( ... I didn't think anything could be worse than folded paper filecards...Hasbro Canada, what have we done to deserve this?!? :o
Ah well, better than nothing I suppose....
-
Figures. As soon as I leave the country.
If anyone can hook me up with a set, I'd appreciate it.
-
Man, I am so jealous, none of the Wal-Mart's I go to have them, the reg or the super. just as a note, the super walmarts have full service grocery stores.
-
Man, that packaging is a joke. I guess I will still continue to gets the waves from the USA and only loking for extra army builders up here.
So far, I found nothing in the Toronto and Durham area Wal-marts. Most of the toy areas haven't recovered from Xmas.
-
Damn it! I was excited until I saw those awful cards. The card art is what makes these anniversary figures as that is more of a throw back than the updated figure. Seeing as I am buying to keep them in the package I will pass on these and try and track them down from the States. When you think about it, you wouldn't have to pay much more to get an American carded figure (shipping included) than buying these from Wal-Mart plus taxes.
-
Hopefully Hasbro sees this thread and fixes this.
Just so we're clear - we're "ok" wth the back of the card - it's the front that is pathetic right? ;-)
-
Personally, I'm ok with the back. It looks a little odd with only the 5 "preview" pictures, but hopefully that will fill out over time and give it more of a classic look.
-
Holy Cow! I just realized the back has no file card! These are junk. They might as well be dollar-store knock offs. Did anyone ever think that Hasbro would have gone from having vehicles that had dedicated Canadian flag stickers to this?
-
I won't feel so bad about opening them now if I ever find them :'(
-
Nothing yet in my area.
-

I see a seller from Asia is selling these generic carded figures on E-bay as a "prototype". I think a few were already bidded at over $20 each.

There's been a bunch of them popping up as prototypes. Apparently some of them sold around the 100$ mark a month or two ago.

Now that's funny. Man, people gotta learn to wait.
-
I saw those on ebay. People who were bidding at that time didn't know what we know now (i.e. Canadian Crappy Carded).

When I saw the white stickers with names on them on those cards I guessed they may be Canadian. The sticker style was identical to the name stickers on the Canadian Venom Vs Valor packaging.
-
Well I hit the Wallys in Woodstock and cleaned them out. They only had 8 units in stock to begin with.. so that is one case.
I only did find Flash, Snow Job, Shipwreck, Crimson Guard.. still looking for the Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander and Destro.
Also went to two in London tonight, struck out at the White Oaks Wal*Mart but did find a Shipwreck at the one out by the Sam's Club.
Needless to say, I am opening the CG only. I'm going to keep the rest on card, tucked away.
-
Still nothing in my area and I've tried 4 different stores (2 in Kitchener, one in Cambridge and one in Guelph).
Can anyone tell me the UPC code off the back of a Canadian card?
Thanks.
-
sure it is 5356925176
-
still no 25th anny at my walmarts, the one in goderich only had a bunch of sigma 6 toys with bonus dvd ::) and chatham has no gijoe at all >:(
-
Nothing yet and I've tried a lot in my area. I have a question for you that have found them. Is that a sticker on the top right corner of the explosion? If so, can it be pealed off?
-

I haven't tried taking it off but it looks like it could be pealed off without damaging the card.
-
Checked another Wal-Mart in the Toronto area (the one on Keele Street) on the way to the office from a job. Nothing.
-
I checked Wal-Marts in Peterborough and London during jobs I had in those cities the past few days. Nothing. Seriously, F@*&^ this shit of wasting my time. Good distribution there Wal-Mart. ::)
-
They had some at Wal-Mart North in London but they sold out really quick.
-
I was at the White Oaks Mall Wal-Mart as I was inspecting the property.
-
Woo Hoo, found 25th Anniversary figures at the Chatham Wal-Mart, there were only 3 left, Shipwreck, Sgt. Flash, and Crimson Guard. this was on sunday
today (monday) i went to my local wal-mart in Goderich with not much hope, but much to my delighted surprise I found 25th Anniversary figures, and was able to pick up the other 4, Cobra Commander, Destro, Snake-Eyes, and Snowjob, I left them with only 2 Flashes and a Shipwreck. I am so stoked.
-
Seen in Ottawa and Gatineau (which got them first). Seems to be one case per store so far, although 25A figs are planned for a few pegs in the aisle layout, per the schematics that were posted today...
I await Hasbro's answers on retail availability in Canada... meanwhile, I'm off to Zellers tomorrow.
-
Still haven't seen a single figure at the two walmarts near me in Ottawa. Curious which walmart in Ottawa did you see these at Starviper?
Thanks
-
If anyone going to the meet in April comes across Flash and can pick one up for me on the Canadian card you would be doing me a favor. I'm not looking to buy one at marked up prices but I'll pay retail prices. I'm just looking for a little help as I haven't seen any yet in the 4 Walmarts near me.
Thanks.
-
Well it's been roughly 3 weeks since a single case was sent to what seems to be select Wal~Mart stores and while they all have pegs up, they're always empty. I just don't get it. Perhaps this was just a trail run to see if they would sell (an explanation for the lazy cards). Well they've sold, all it takes is a single collector to find them, now when do we get more?
If they're following the TRU model than I guess we can expect more in about 3 months time. By then we should be up to Wave 8 and most of the 25th anniversary line will have come and gone. And if Sigma 6 is any indication, they'll order a billion cases of the same wave and it will never sell through.....sigh...
-
I had to go to 3 different Wal-marts (and I hate walmart) to find a complete set.
Pain in the ass - and they have not been restocked.
As for the comic packs - I have been to a couple of Zellers but nothing.
-
What Walmarts have you guys been to? I don't want to waste my time going to any walmarts that have been already cleaned out/ never received stock.
-
I was at the one in Georgetown and Brampton
As well I checked square one.
I just happened to be at the doctors in Brampton and stopped as I already had the morning off of work. I found a complete set - and left another complete set on the shelves.

Your are covered. I found a crappy Canadian carded Flash today.
-
Cambridge Wal~Mart is still empty. They have a peg up but I don't know if they ever got any in.
-
Was in my Wal-Mart in Goderich today and they still have one Crimson Guard, cause I bought the other to take apart, and one Shipwreck still left. The one in Chatham had a Cobra Commander and Crimson Guard when I was there on the weekend.
-
dude if you're near the one in Chatham again snag the CC I'd buy it from you no problem....heck I'd go for the guard too.
-
LT Storm - If you have the chance, can you get me the CG and Shipwreck from the Goderick WM/ I can try and get the Hawk/Scarlett pack from Zellers if you'd like.
Paul

I'll probably be at the chatham wal-mart on sunday so I'll check if they are still there for you Deadshot.

Sure paul, that sounds good i'll stop by there during the day, i have to do some erands this morning before my boss comes up so i'll get them then.
-
So far I have personally check the two in Kitchener, one in Guelph, one in Cambridge, one in Oakville (yesterday) and one in Milton. Some of those places I've checked more than once.
I have yet to see any of these in person.
-
Looks like the only places to find these are niagara and toronto. Guelph walmart had no space on the planagram, and no product as of Wednesday.
-
Walmart near me had pegs labeled for them ( 3 pegs) but nothing on them. Either they haven't arrived, or are already sold out.
-
Not sure if I posted this already, but just in case I didn't:
Cambridge Wal~Mart has one peg, but no product (never saw any at all.)
Kitchener Wal~Mart (Fairview) has two pegs, but no product (I saw a picked over case there a few weeks ago.)
Waterloo Wal~Mart has two pegs, but no product.
I asked an employee about them once and she said something about "they've been on ?? (didn't catch the word) at the warehouse so I have no idea when they'll come in."

Wow, that surprises me they're bigger then Goderich. You're getting ripped off. I just cleaned out my Goderich Wal-Mart. ;D They better keep getting them and Hasbro better release more figures.

Wait a second. Waterloo Walmart? K-Town is my stomping groud but I don't know of a Waterloo Walmart. There is the Fairview Walmart and the Sunrise center Walmart but that's all I know of. Did I miss something?
Also, how long ago did Fairview have them? I've been looking and haven't seen anything.

Maybe it's Kitchener, I'm not overly familiar with the area. It's right off Fisher-Halmon (sp?)/ Hwy 7.
Hmm, Fairview....it's been awhile..the first of second week of January.
-
Well, my Chatham Wal-Mart was all sold out but the encouraging news was that there were 2 empty pegs for them with a NEW sticker on one.

8 of the 10 Wal-Marts I have been to have the same set up.
-
nada at the 2 St. Catharines Walmarts.
Lady was stocking the shelves when I was at the 1 near my work, and told me they have yet to receive any stock of them.
-
Was back at the Wal-Mart in Brampton - they had zero and the store was a complete mess.
However Comic Book Warehouse in Brampton had Wave 5 in stock, but there was no body around and no price on them. I am guessing they are going to be similar in price to silver snail.
-
Found a case of these at zellers near me, man things have changed the zellers near me has a better toy section than walmart which still has none where I am.
Snake8Storm
-
Aha! At Zellers... where are you?
-
Still nada near me.
-
Still nada near me.
Same in KW. The curse of the "one and done" continues. I haven't seen any stores restock. If you're not lucky enough to be there the day they put the single case out you're screwed. Trying to be patient as thing seem to be headed in the right direction but it's such a long drawn out process.
-
St. Catharines 4th Av. Walmart shows temporarily out of stock on the pegs.
-
St. Catharines 4th Av. Walmart shows temporarily out of stock on the pegs.
Same at the Welland Ave one.
Although the lady in the toy section there says they have yet to receive stock, and have been waiting on it since Jan 17th.
-
I was in Stoney Creek last night, and the Walmart at Eastgate Square had all of Wave 5 except for the Crimson Guard.
Add to this that they were found at TRU in Hamilton, and I'd say distribution is starting to actually get out there...
-
The stores that I have seen them in have not restocked.
The got wave 5 - sold out, and empty pegs have been sitting for weeks.
Does anyone know if there will be or has been a restock?
