Title: comic con commander
Post by: Realboss on June 04, 2008, 08:41:07 PM
I just read at joebattlelines through thier Q&A with hasbro the ComicCon Cobra Commander is a indy/starwars, mold/style figure i.e. less articulation than the other 25th figures.

I don't know if I like that.

It is a little disappointing perhaps, but since I'll never be able to find/afford it, it doesn't bother me.  It's a cool item representing 1 panel in a flashback sequence...probably better MOC anyway  ;D

Now, if the regular figures started losing their articulation.... :mrt:

Knowing that it has limited play value and won't look right next to my other Joes, it makes it a lot easier to keep it MOC.

Meh. No T-crotches here. Thanks.

So far I've resisted anything from the Indy line on that principle, and I don't think that there's any reason to go back on that.

The indy stuff isn't bad, however it could be so much better- that T-crotch is the real killer.
As for that Cobra Commander, I would like to have one, but would never open it - I don't see it fitting into the rest of my 25a collection.

I feel the same way. If Indy didn't have the T-crotch them I would have bought some (if not all) of them.

As it is, no sale.

I don't think the indy figures are selling as well as hasbro hoped.  I see alot of peg warmers  maybe they should have distributed the waves better.  and designed the figures more like the joe line.

I do like the idea of the Cobra Commander figure but I don't like the execution.  (may or may not get one--definetly not from ebay.

Does anybody else think this Indy figure mold from the past looks the same as the SDCC CC?

I don't think it is the same figure, the collar and tie on the Commander appear to be lower and the tie smaller - this could be a paint application causing the illusion, but I don't think so.
