Sweet!!!
A shame they are all reissues (no new characters/uniforms).
A bummer for those who wanted a "fixed" Flint. Here he is, but only in the 5 pack.
I wonder why they went back to the packaging of the first 5 packs?
I'll pick this up because I am a completist.
Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but Shipwreck isn't a Navy Seal is he?
-
Sweet. That is the Flint and Shipwreck I want, minus the purse Shipwreck has
.
-
Flint and Shipwreck are worth the purchase of this set - I am also thinking that Hawk and Lady Jaye have better paint in terms of cartoon accurate colours.
I also like the background dio image.
-
If they sent the images here that means we can get this set in Canada? Awesome!
I already have all these figures but I think I'd still get the set because it looks nice.
-
Indeed they do look great!
Thanks for the pictures.
-
Based on the XMLR-3A laser rifles, this set looks like a cartoon homage set.
-
I think they're amazing looking! Spread the word fellas, alot of fans are going to want to know about these ones!! (Just be sure to tell them who had them first!) ;-)
-
edited to put in first post.
-
wow wow just wow! I'm getting this 5-pack in a heartbeat, Timber and Polly are insane! Love the fixes on shippy. These guys could easily be my defactos now.
-
Thanks for sharing the new images. Even though they appear to be repaints, I think there is some nice mold changes there.
I've posted info and linked to you guys over at the Terror Drome (http://http://www.theterrordrome.com).
Thanks!
-
Thanks for the pics guys!
Hope to see them at retail before Christmas.
-
Wow. This just pisses me off because now I'm buying multiple versions of every figure in order to get ones that I like. I picked up an entire DVD pack to get that Lady Jaye, and this one's even better.
I am tempted to not pick up anything for a year until the repaints and fixes work themselves out. :-(
Yes these are improved versions of everything, but I already have an inferior version or three of every one of these guys.
Looks like I've been unintentionally filling my fodder bin.
And sadly I will be picking this pack up - If only for the flag backdrop in the background. I only wish that I'd not purchased the earlier ones.

See, if your were a figure completist, you wouldn't be that pissed. Ducks, runs and hides from
-
That's all sorts of cool. It will be great to see these in Canada for once.
-
Too cool! I can't wait for this - I'm missing Flint and Snake Eyes, so this will help round out my collection.
Did they say when it was being released?
-
COBRA IMAGES ADDED!
-
COBRA IMAGES ADDED!
You guys Rock!
I'm very excited about both of these sets.
-
Finally, a decent Baroness. To bad I want a single pack version as well.
Is that chrome on the Viper face plate? :o
What is up with fruitcake Zartan?
-
Oh I like that Viper face plate. Much better then the flat silver paint.
-
:o :o :o OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG :o :o :o
I feel as giddy as a school girl.
-
Could it be? The viper's arms are FIXED??
-
Don't quote me but it looks liked the Viper's arms are going to be fixed in the comic two pack with IG, based on the way the figure was posed in the newest mastercollector newsletter.
-
I didn't notice that till Stealth Viper mentioned it, they do seem "fixed" Ooooo and he has a chrome face plate. Shiny.
-
The arms do look fixed and nice touch of chrome.
And the Zartan is the angry Zartan from the cartoon. Everytime he got really pissed his chest plate went all red flarring like (my description sucks)
I don't really care for the Storm Shadow as I think they nailed him perfectly the first time around. And Cobra Commander is ho-hum, however the other three are great!
-
I don't really care for the Storm Shadow as I think they nailed him perfectly the first time around.
But now, they're giving him Nunchucks! He should have came with them from the start
-
These going to be sold in Walmart and Zellers or just Toys R Us?
-
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH.
They fixed the viper arms. Now I'm would have to get yet another Cobra Commander and Stormshadow to get a fixed viper, and decent baronness head.
That tears it. I am passing on the cobra pack. I refuse to buy another Cobra Commander or Stormshadow against my will.
And Pete, I will not be infected with the completist disease. I refuse to devote an entire display shelf to 15 repaints of the same Stormshadow mold.
-
-
I have to get the Cobra pack! I need that Baroness and I don't yet have a Viper and they both look great. I like that Zartan too except maybe there is a little too much pink on him.
-
I will try to find some of these Vipers with fixed chrome and hands.
Thanks Hasbro!

Wow.
I'm only 6 25th figures into my collection, and I have none of these guys.
Sign me up!
-
Wow they fixed Shipwrecks hands, and Baroness actually looks pretty good. I also must say, that the Viper is also an improvement. I will be looking for these.
-
Let me add another AARRRGGGHHH!!!!
Unless Hasbro makes it clear that this new Viper will be out in a future pack/wave/whatever, we are in for a pain in the rear.
Why?
Because if you don't buy it early, you may end up buying a returned set with older figures (I'm looking at you Viper) being swapped in for the new ones and then returned.
AARRRRGGGHHH!!!
And we all know it will happen.
-
I wonder if they plan on making Zartan's chest light up.
-
I think they took away Lady Jayes clevage lol. I wonder if someone complained to Hasbro about the other versions.
-
I just noticed Cobra Commanders arms have been fixed as well. He doesn't have the fist anymore.
-
Are these retail sets? I remember there being other box sets like this before but I never saw them at stores. I think I saw them at the 80's Toy con in Burlington last April(?). I hope these will be easier to come by I really want them.

If they're out by May you WILL find them at the Canadian GI Joe Convention : www.canadianjoecon.com (http://www.canadianjoecon.com)

Yeah, his body is straight from DVD pack #5 where they fixed the fist-hand first.
-
I think they took away Lady Jayes clevage lol.
Damn it. That was easily the most memorable aspect of the character. Any guy who's seen the cartoon growing up knows what I mean. ;D
These packs look great. Assuming I can find them, I'll get them. Mainly the Joe one. Cobra one ain't bad, either. Love that Viper.
-
Just ordered the Joe set, out of impatience. The Cobra set is far less useful since I bothered tracking down carded versions of all but one of them, though I have to have it. Baroness is sorely missed and I can't take her diver iteration seriously at all. Now, to find it at retail...wish me luck!
-
come to Brantford at the Walmart. You'll find a tonn of Joes and Cobras of these sets!
-
They just hit London today. I grabbed the Cobra set and it's not bad. Would've liked a little higher quality in Zartan and SS but whatever, they are dupes anyway and I love that SS's gear is backwards compatible with ARAH since it's got no peg. My Ninja Viper from 92 will finally have proper gear.
-
Saw them in a Windsor Wal*Mart tonight.
-
I've got both sets now, got one at Wal-mart and the other online (assuming I'd never find either at retail).
Now I think these are a great value, and are most appropriate as starter kits for either children or an adult who has only got his interest up again since the movie preview (or similar). For those of us who have had a long head start, neither set is amazingly useful but I'd still call it a must-have at the price.
Cobras:
Baroness: The best version of this character ever. This figure is the only real exclusive and brilliant figure in the Cobra set. I would have paid $15 for her alone, so it justified the set easily. Having missed out on the first black version last year, I was very happy to get this much-improved take on one of the most important Cobras of all.
Cobra Commander: He's fine. I didn't like the cape when it came in the comic pack and don't like it now. Otherwise, he's a classic version of my favorite psychotic tyrant.
Zartan: Useless to anyone who got the carded Swamp Zartan. His face isn't as nicely made and the overall paint looks cheaper.
Storm Shadow: a great new mold but his skin is molded in color, not painted like the superior quality carded Storm Shadow. It looks like this mold will be properly painted for its release in the Hall of Heroes. Annoying.
Viper: Nice. If this is the version we'll get in the TRU set, sign me up. Not a huge improvement in any practical sense, but the chrome really stands out making this a very handsome Viper. Like the Baroness, this is probably the best this character has ever looked.
Joes:
Flint: Skinnier with new backpack-friendly webgear. I like the old webgear more, it made him seem more muscular. Also, I am not liking the face on this version, enough that I may end up permanently giving him Flint-in-disguise's beret head. The new one has bared teeth and just doesn't look good to me, even if it's clearly Flint. He has a hard time holding his weapons too. Tiger Force Flint will remain my favorite Flint so far.
Hawk: Cheap-o repaint of the wonderful carded version. It's bad enough that Hawk's face is inconsistent between his 82 and 86 iterations, but carrying this across the 25th line makes it even more confusing. Hawk v2 in 25th form basically looks like Duke in the face. I definitely prefer the grimacing v1 face from the comic pack. Anyway, this version is cheap! It doesn't even say Abernathy on his bomber jacket any more. A waste of a slot in the set, if you ask me. At least it wasn't another Duke.
Shipwreck: I wanted him the most, since I missed out on his carded version and the comic pack version is too far off course to satisfy my nostalgia. I hate the way they did Polly, and I liked his older head mold better, but this is a very accurate cartoon Hector and that's good enough for me.
Lady Jaye: My copy has head problems because of her collar. The head isn't as nicely painted as the version in the DVD set and this one lacks the cleavage most of us appreciate. A much better spear and nice articulation make this a decent figure, if still maybe my second-place LJ.
Snake Eyes: Now this is one I can approve of. However, I reckon the HoH version will take this mold and present it in nicer paint and construction quality ala Storm Shadow from the Cobra set.
I'd give each set a solid 7 out of 10. Worth buying but not without some issues.
-
This is a stretch, but has anyone bought the Into pack with DVD? I was curious about the DVD is it is any good.
