Title: What does everyone want to see/do at the Joe Con
Post by: rentyn on November 28, 2008, 12:59:12 PM: I want to hear evryones idea's about what they would like to see or do at this years Canadin Joe Convention. Whether it is seminars on collecting in general, diorama making, customizing, open forum with various presenters, comic related stuff, buying/selling/trading and so on.

Since this years convention will be my first. I am really looking forward to learning alot more about the finer aspects of collecting GIJoe. I have an idea that I'm currently beginning. I am making a 5 level structure of The Pit. In the GIJoe Yearbook #1 comic it had a diagram of the pit with floorplans for each level. So I'm planning on making one out of wood. The top will have the garages, driveways and grass. It should be pretty cool when done.

As for what I would like to see at the convention how about a seminar on constructing buildings for use in large diorama's. With the class focus on building of the structures not setting up the diorama.

Post by: BHMike on November 28, 2008, 06:46:39 PM: I'll have a list of items and events going on at the event within a week or two. Be patient my friend. ;-)

The day is filled with activities, so even if a suggestion is made that sounds like something we "should" do, we may not have the time (or the space) for it. ;-)

But I'm always interested in hearing what ELSE people would like to see at it. It may not happen in 2009, but it's never too early to start brainstorming for 2010!

Post by: grunt 4 mvp on December 26, 2008, 11:30:54 PM: Two meets ago there was a great trading section on the stage. Last meet, I guess this fell by the wayside due to lack of space.
The vendors were all great and Hama was awesome.
Looking forward to the 'list' of scheduled events.

I've been buying some really hard to find vintage stuff from him since the last two Meets and he'll be my regular shopping spot, I hope ( MIKE let me know if he'll be back this year!!!)

Valcor?... Do you mean Voker? Older guy with a mustache? As far as I know he's still interested in setting up.
