I got an e-mail telling me to check out the window display at 5145 St-Laurent Blvd. I was wondering if anyone still in Montreal had or could swing by, maybe with a camera. Apparently it has to do with the Cobra the Musical guys.
-
I havn't been to st-laurent lately but I did see an add for Cobra the musical in last week's issue of the Mirror.
15$, december 18-21
If anyone is thinking of going on the 21st let me know

Warning, it's not suitable for kids. In fact, I don't use the term "childhood raping" that often, but it's amazingly suitable in this circumstance. If you're even the slightest bit homophobic or don't enjoy a *lot* of profanity in your comedy, you might want to give it a pass.
If you enjoy the idea of Serpentor walking around in a towel and a cowl, or Zartan in nothing but a pink thong, you'll have a blast.

Wait...what ???
Oh I am so glad I live in Ontario where all the sane people are.

That is, in fact, the exact day I was planning on going.

Wait, there's people in montreal that don't enjoy a *lot* of profanity in your comedy!!!!!!!!
Sounds great (except the Zartan in a pink thong...unless Zartan is played by a chick)

Sounds good to me. I finish my last exam of the semester on the 20th (yes I know its a saturday lol) so the 21st would work for me. I guess we can make some plans next week.
Any other takers?
Oh my God! I just checked out the website for the guys that do this, extensive enterprises, turns out one of them used to own Empire Comics - Ace Lopes - which is where I would always go when I was like 10 for my comics and cards. Crazy coincidence.

I saw it at the Toronto Fringe Festival. It may have changed slightly, but the themes were very um, risque. I bet that it plays a lot better in Montreal.
And if you get a chance, buy the soundtrack. Cobra Commander's rap is beyond words.

This is actually part three of Cobra the musical, part I having been rewritten extensively since the Toronto show you saw, Raptor. Part I, Cobra the Musical, was about Cobra producing a version of Hamlet to pay off their terrorist debts. Part II, Cobra Christ Superstar, was about Cobra Commander starting his own religion, only to be crucified by Destro and overthrown. Part III, Cobra Christmas Carol, seems to be about A Christmas Carol.
-
Alright I'm for sure down for the 21st. Anyone know where to buy tickets and if we have to get them in advance?
-
I'll keep watching this thread. If you guys are planning to go on the 21st, I might join you. Should be fun!

Oh man, I can't believe that I missed the second one. That would have been awesome.
I'm not sure that I'm going to feel bad about missing the third one though. ;-)

On the outside?
I would expect that you'd be hassled quite a bit on rue St. Cathrine...
They "detained" me and asked if I was a G.I. Joe spy. I told them that If I was wearing a GI Joe logo, I was obviously a Cobra spy. They let me go...
And this is why Cobra always loses.

Hey boys,
Just got off the phone with my buddies and we're not sure if we're gonna make it down to the show on account of the snowstorm.
If I make it down I'll find you guys.

Same here, mates. I was going to come with some friends but now they don't want to... Sorry guys, I think I'll have to sit this one out. :-[

Well I'm still going. Anyone that can make it great, if not you'll have to read about it in the newsletter. If you do make it, I won't be in my Black Ice hoodie. I forgot it in Windsor. :( Ask for the tickets put aside for Ryan Costello, I'll try to keep an eye open for anyone asking for me.
