Ea Games announced that they will be making the Gi joe video game for the movie. It is going to be available on all platforms.

fingers crossed that there will be some hidden vintage skins in the game.

I heard you can choose from a number of characters for each mission based on their skills.  I just hope it's not like the Marvel Universe game (gauntlet style).

I rather liked Ultimate Alliance...  if this game turns out similar, I could like it!  But, if movie-based-video games have taught me anything, it's not to get my hopes up.

The game is to be released july 09. It will feature a single screen co-op and 12 gi joe charicters. It is in the third person view. It is availibul on mulipul platforms, i used the xbox link as that is the system i have. For screen shots and other info check the link.

Hey, I'm just excited to get a game.

Best part is, if its no good, it'll be half price in the used bin by the time the movie comes out, win!

I'm sure I'll be playing ghostbusters til then, anyway, :)

I'll admit, unless EA miraculously sends me a free copy, I'll be playing Ghostbusters and Arkham Asylum before even thinking of picking up GI Joe.

If there's an online player mode - then that may change. But for now, AA and GB are my top two....... oh, and Rock Band Beatles - but that's not until Sept, I think?

Movie games are always a let-down...  But, they do go on sale the fastest (Second only to sport games  ::)).    It'd probably be worth buying at a discount.

I read a review today that has me a "little" more interested. Apparently you can unlock original outfits?....

No online playing from what I've heard. Which blows... a game like this could easily be a online "capture the flag" type of game.

Oh, man...  GI Joe Capture the Flag would rock so hard!  If you can unlock original outfits, then I'm in out of sheer curiosity...  It'd be like playing in the Mud with my Joes all over again!

ok offical relese date is aug 4. for those getting it on the xbox 360, if you preorder at eb games, you get a bonus code for classic duke uniform

I still don't know if I like the arcade style format.  I may have to rent it to see.  And I'm disappointed with no on-line play, would have been cool.
