I was surprised to see these at Fairview Mall Wal~Mart this morning.
Price is $24.99.
-
25 bucks for one figure? Who was the figure??
-
A little more detail please! What figure, what did it come with, what size, etc etc
-
:) Sorry about that. I meant the movie preview set, the 3 pack of MARS troopers.
-
Wow, that's some great intel! These aren't supposed to hit until June, that's a big coup for Canada.
The figures are in 3-Pack form... some details here:

Those are the ones.
Thanks for adding the pictures. I had to run into a meeting and didn't have time to find them.
-
25 bucks :o
Pass. :(
I'd rather buy another HISS tank for 20 bucks.
-
Cool. I have a road trip tomorrow that will take me right past that Walmart. Looks like I might have to pick up a set.
Still, $25.00 is a lot for 3 toys. it's going to make it hard for the kiddies to get them. I don't see many parents wanting to spend that sort of money when they can buy the crappy 4 pack WITH a DVD for $24.99. These should cost $15.00 a set, maybe $18.00 tops.
-
For that much I'd rather go the extra 5 bucks and get the Joe 5 pack I haven't gotten yet.
Did Shredder join Cobra? Thats what I keep thinking when I see those helmets.
-
Just remember that this is 3 completely new figures (granted 2 copies), and $25 is about $8 a figure. That falls in line with single carded figures.
Not saying that it is a good thing, just remember it isn't completely out of range.
-
The more I've been looking at them, the more I like them. Without the helmets anyway. *urge to go to walmart growing*
-
I wasn't horribly impressed with them when I saw the first images and now that I have them in hand they're still kind of "muh". They have some neat elements, but nothing about them says "G.I. Joe" to me. The packing is perhaps the most appealing thing to me.
-
Saw these at Walmart (Pharmacy/Eglinton) today.
I concur with others that these are "meh."
Not really impressed by them, but they may end up being great figures in the long run.
-
I called around this morning and found ther were some at Argyle Wal-mart in London. By the time I was done work, the clerk said they were all gone.

I picked up a set yesterday. They are alright. Sure the helmet sort of looks like Shredder but the figures aren't that bad. What really sucks is the gun that is about 1/3 too big for the troopers to carry. The thing is huge and ugly and doesn't fit in the guys hands. I like to keep my Joe toys intact and not mix up accessories but as soon as I pulled out the figure I frowned at the guns and threw them back in the box. I then pulled out my misc bag of guns I won from a previous Joe Canuck meet and started trying some of Marauder Inc. guns in the figures hands. The figures went from being a 6.5 out 10 to being a solid 8 out of 10 once I changed the weapons.
If you've never tried the Marauder Inc. guns, the set I got was this one:

This gives you a lot to work with.

I was thinking of going about to find these today but it sounds like they sold out at my local Wal-mart (pdaat and I shop at the same ones!)
But really $25 is a lot for three figures I don't really care about. It was tempting to get them and flip em on ebay for 10 bucks US each, they'd go in no time, but meh. I don't need to do that to make money, it was just tempting to be the early bird. If I see a set I'll buy one for myself and that's probably all I'd do. Like someone else said, you can get a HISS for that money and I'd rather have a fourth HISS than some ninja turtle foes dressed up as IG's.
Did Canada get these early just on account of international packaging?

I don't know why we got them ealy but I can confirm that they do have the international packaging.
-
they had six of the sets at Argyle Wal-mart in London after all. I grabbed three. Actually, I friggin' love them. A bit steep still, but color me impressed. Movie Line +1
-
Maybe they'll have more appeal after I see the movie... but right now, I'm just not feelin' it
-
I picked up one at Argyle Wal-Mart (although I too was tempted to get more). I like them. The holster on the officer looks neat.
FYI - I hit Fanshawe Wal-Mart on the way out of town and they are putting out a case for tomorrow. One more set left at Argyle.

I hate to say it, but I LOVE these figures. Having them in hand really made the difference. If they weren't so expensive I'd have bought them out.
-
Saw them at Toys R Us today. $29.99 there.
For 3 figures.
Right next to the comic 2 packs for $12.99
... and the senior ranking officer packs for $16.99
WTF were they thinking?
-
The price is the biggest problem with these for sure. Well they pack them with lame guns too but the figs themselves are really nice quality. They come off like expanded universe Cobra prototype soldiers. The three sets I bought will be enough for me until they clearance. I am already trying to sell a couple of the figs to reduce the price per fig but no one probably wants these on account of prejudices and the bad accessories. Regardless, if these clearance at even 15 bucks I'll have as many as I can get in the cart.
-
My stupid Walmart didn't have them... :(
-
I know I said I was going to pass on these, but when I was in my hometown Walmart in Chatham on the weekend and saw them...I picked one up. :(
They had a TON of them sitting on the shelf.
With the HISS, Armadillo/Airchariot and singles packed in and warming the pegs.
-
These finally showed up in Brantford. I ended up passing on them. There was a sale on Transformers. The deluxe ones(?) that usually cost about $15 were on sale for $8! I got Hound with Ravage (yay!) and Cyclonus and I can call it a day on TF's till after the movie or until I see Animated Arcee.
-
I saw the TF's on sale, my Walmart (chatham) had only Cheator and Sideswipe.
-
Fairview Wal~Mart still has a decent quantity of these as of about an hour ago.
Toys'R'Us Kitchener also has a shelf full of them. They're $29.99 though.
-
Saw them at walmart in vaughan today. Talk about excess packaging. Deep box for 3 little figures.
Big pass for me as I'm skipping the movie merch entirely. Anyways, they had a good 1/2 dozen or so on the shelf there.
-
More of these on the floor at Argyle W-M in London.
-
These were at London Walmart White Oaks mall and they still had some the other day at the 24-hour super Walmart. They never had them at Oakridge as far as I know. A funny story, I went to the Toys R Us here in London, and they had these figs. They were $30. I tried to buy one but when I got to the register the machine beeped and wouldn't let her scan it. The tape said that it couldn't go on sale until May 1st. She said they would save it for me and when I went back they were off the shelves. Anyways later that day I went to Walmart where they had tons of these for $25. So I got that one for $5 less. I guess Walmart has them here because they are too ignorant/jerkish to regard giant stickers on boxes that say *Do Not Sell Until* with dates on them. At least they don't leak games and movies. The upshot to me of the entire ordeal is that on May 1st, there will probably be a lot of Joe movie stuff on sale and I would start checking that day if anybody was planning on getting them.
-
They did have some at Oakridge at some point.
The fact that it seems all Canadian Wal-marts seem to be ignoring the street date indicates to me that they are intentionally putting them out early.

I have seen W-M put out DVDs that are for Tuesday as early as the previous Friday (got a season of Simpsons that way last year). That's not common, but they do seem to have a devil-may-care approach to the concept of flooring product when it's supposed to be.
-
All the Wal-marts in London now seem to have an endless supply of these sets. Now I just have to wait till they lower the price before I'd consider buying more.
-
The mars trooper pack is back at fairview walmart. I got mine for 19.95. As they were right above a label that said 19.95, the proper label was at the other end of the shelf. Its their policy to give it at the stated label price. They had 6 left when i left 10 minutes ago.
-
Saw them at the Chatham Zellers, a few months behind WalMart
