I had a really good time! Thanks a lot for putting on this event, we could see that you worked really hard on it! I am fully enjoying my Hate tank! I grabbed a couple of Target planes and a Resolute 5 pack while I was there. I really enjoyed talking to the Hasbro rep. (What was his name anyways?) I didn't get the chance to talk to Mark Bellomo and I wish that I had bought a copy of his book but I had to leave early. Did he leave any copies with you? Sorry I didn't get the chance to talk to you guys more! I will definitely be seeing you next year!
-
Yes, thanks to Mike and his crew for an outstanding show, made my first attendance very eventful and fun! It was great meeting a lot of the board members and some great guests and vendors. I really had fun and will definatly come again next year!
-
Thanks a ton!
I had a great time again this year. I met a few more guys in person and bought a few things but didn't spend to much money this time around. I won the SDCC Combat Heros Snake Eyes and Timber 2 pack (but man, I WISH I had won the box of meat! I would have snapped that up in a second). Can't wait to do it all again next year ;D
-
I had a great time at the con. This has been my first G.I Joe convention and first ever convention that I have been too. I missed out on the exclusives, but am happy with my Resolute Cobra Commander, Resolute Duke, Resolute 5 pack, (Loose) vintage Beachhead and Shipwreck, Firebat and finally my signed copy of AWOL'D LEEVES ( Thanks Jason! ). I left at around 3:30 and missed out on who won the Cobra Terror Drome and the G.I Joe: Rise Of Cobra tickets, does anyone know who won them?
P.S That new Viper the Hasbro represenative showed on the Q & A was awesome! ;D

Many, many, many thanks to all those who helped organize the show. It is always a pleasure to meet people from the board. I wish I could have stayed the whole day. Always next year.
-
thanks guys, i looked forward to this every year and seeing all of you guys, it' was awesome.
thanks again, you guys all rock
-
I like to thank every one who attended the convention and thank them for their support.
A BIG THANK YOU to The Mike and Crew for putting on another EXCELLENT Show.
-
Just a brief stopover to say thanks for a fun show and a chance to meet y'all again.
Unpack. Costumes. Tomorrow.
Must. Sleep. Now.

I had a great time!! Met some cool people (even though they are americans) I love the ConSet. Look forward to next year.

A great day out. I was selling but got to enjoy a bit of the festivities. Mark Bellomo was great to chat with and also the nice Hasbro lady :P. The Marauder folks were super cool giving away a free weapon with each purchase...amazing quality accessories. Picked up an exclusive, a couple of 12" repros, a foot locker, some comics, a bootleg, a prototype and a figure I'm not supposed to have yet
.
Managed to sell enough to cover my purchases too!...always helps. Great meeting some of the members of this board and some civilians too.
Thanks to TheMike and the JoeCanuck team for a fine show. The Convention Centre seemed like a nice facility for the event.
Two thumbs up.
-
what a great con the only thing that was a let down was the lack of customs lol. man you guys all rock great job this yr. cant wait to see what you have instore for next yr.
-
I meant to display mine but I totally forgot to bring them, I thought they were in my bag but not ><
-
Glad to hear you guys safely arrived at home. I was running on fumes towards the end my drive home tonight.
-
I was lucky, I almost got in an accident going home zoning out (30 something hours no sleep), luckily my friend snapped me out of it before I rear ended some car.
-
Definitly a great time!! Seeing Shipwreck with Polly on his shoulder taking pictures with the kids was cool in and of itself. The movie figures looked great. Missed out on the con set, but got an Ultimate battle pack for 75 bones, awesome! Even the missus had a good time (I took her to Ikea afterwards. Spent too much money there too.).
Thanks again for showing that us Canadians are as rabid for our passions as anyone else

That was an awesome experience, all of it from standing the line for the wristbands behind Mr. and Mrs. Marauder John their son Logan all the way up till that last raffle! ;D
thanks to the whole staff for putting the show together, this is most definitely the best one yet. THANK YOU!
-
I had a great time. I got my Shortpacked Vol 1 and 2 which I am really happy about. There was a table with $5 25th Ann Joes and I really had to restrain myself haha. I got that Firefly from the comic pack that everyone raves about and now I see why cause he's teh awesome. I also got a translucent blue Cobra Commander. I thought that was pretty neat. (I'm easily amused)
Thanks again Mike. I'll be sure to come along next year.

It sounds like the moring was great and that is ussualy whne all the fun happens !!!I worked in the morning but was pleased with what I saw when I got there in the afternoon. I ended up picking a lot of joes for some great prices. I hope the convention was a financial success too!
-
I had a great time. I really enjoyed catching up with/meeting a lot of people. A big thank you to all the people who worked during the con.
Also - a big fie on the people who put themselves in danger by not resting. If you are passing out on the road, get some sleep!
-
thank you guys for another great show. The exclusives are amazing i love them! even if i will never take them out of the box.
I filled in a few holes in my collection, and added some stuff i didn't have before such as the W.O.R.M.S antenna, and most of the parts i needed for my phantom x-19. Thank you guys again for the great show and i look forward to next years.
-
Great job guys! Yet again Mark Bellomo is one heck of a guy. Great to talk to. The other guests were great to talk to dare I say even the Hasbro Canada people. It was neat to see some folks from the States and not the usual suspects either. The 12" dealers were a blast to visit with as well--I wish them much success. And finally a big thanks to the Joecanuck staff for working tirelessly once again to make sure everything ran smoothly.
P.S. Side Note: Scramble don't forget CrabTree Publishing. I'd love to see your book go to the next level. Sorry Loop, children's book publisher.

Nice pics, I wish I had taken my camera.

A huge thanks to Mike and all the joe con staff for putting on an awesome show.
It was great to finally meet you Mike. It was great to see some familiar faces I haven't seen for quite some time like loop, scramble, viperlord, gsmiley, pete and a few others.
Great to meet new faces too. I got to chat with dryhawk for a few hours in line (in the cold!!!).
Lots of vendors, prizes, and some seminars. Just a great overall experience.
I wish I got to win some prizes but someone won them all...
...and does so every year I heard..haha.
It was fun to be able to go to the con with the Montreal gang.
Also, thanks to martin for half of the driving.
-
Sweet Pics xhairs. I got got blocked in the first pic..grrr...haha
-
cool you can sort of see me in the first pick, Im on the right side against the wall
-
Thanks for a great weekend! I'm still not recovered yet after the long travel, and still have to fly back to San Diego tomorrow morning, but it was well worth it. I think that this was easily one of the best conventions Ive been to, even though it was only a one day event. Waiting in line for those 5 hours was freezing, but was made easier by the great Joe talk and meeting some of the members here in person.
Thanks again guys and glad to finally make it up there to be a part of it after all these years!!
-
Heh....you got me holding my carded W14 Zap.
Thanks for the pics. I should have mine up in the next day or so.

Freezing? pshaw, it was barely 40. I was in shorts and a t-shirt, and I know I wasn't the only guy in shorts. You want cold, wait in line at target or best buy on the day after thanksgiving sales. That can get bitter.
Although, I did envy that one guy in the sleeping bag. ;D
-
Great pics!! I'm in the 4th pic (bald guy far left).
I also forgot to say how great it was that they chromed the stand for the Frostback trooper!!!

xhairs, I am impressed. People have the hardest time taking pictures of the HATE. It reflects light so absolutely that flashes are a problem and so are rooms so bright that you don't need a flash.

The day after the con is always so strange. You have this feeling like "I didn't get to see anybody" after spending eight hours in a room with hundreds of people. You're jealous to hear about all the cool stuff people saw even though you walked the same floor as them as many times as they did. And now you're not surrounded by more toys than a hundred childhoods, but suddenly the maybe dozen toys you ended up with are the coolest toys in the whole world.
In that vein, here are a few shots taken a day or two after the con.
My con set, #6.
Wait, what's that in the corner?
Viperlord, whom I carpooled with, bought a Sky Patrol Sky Hawk with box, you see. When I took my set out of his trunk, the sticker had moved onto my stuff. I guess it sensed that there was more chrome nearby. The glue was old so I was able to apply it and then remove it for this novelty shot without leaving residue.
The selection of reading material I left the con with.
Once a Holy Grail, now an army builder.
Some MOC goodness.
With all the 25th figures packed with JUMPs, someone needs to keep Cobra Island's sky safe.
Actually, I got these items the weekend of the con but neither came from the con. I made it known that I'm a big fan of Trouble Bubbles and was on the hunt for blue ones. Raptor hooked me up with the Trouble Bubble he didn't want from the Ultimate Battle Pack. Then, the day after the con, we went toy shopping and I found a Croc Master.
The croc may eventually get his own Fang.
Something else I got before the con was DVD set #5. I'm sure I'm making many people jealous by showing off my MASS Device.
So much time has passed between getting the first set and the last set that dust had settled.
I was mostly excited to complete the MASS Device (minus a couple of elements), so I was extremely surprised by how much I loved Alpine. I knew I couldn't leave the con without his pal Bazooka. Here they are, together again and ready to yoddle an avalanche.
Maurauder John ofMaurauder Gun-Runners (http://http://www.marauderinc.com/servlet/StoreFront) set up at the Canadian Joe Con for the first time, showing off his variety of exclusive 3 3/4" accessories. One I liked in particular was the modular SKAR rifle.
The Skar comes with a great variety of scopes and mountable weapons. They are all of the highest quality, but one I did not expect to find a use for was the chainsaw bayonet.

It looked great and was a fun concept, but I couldn't imagine anyone but a Dreadnok using it. Since I don't do Dreadnok customs, who else would be crazy enough to run into battle with that thing?

Why does Back-Stops card have 2008 on it? Shouldn't it have 2009?
-
Ha, that overhead shot shows me asking the guy selling the terrordrome if he would sell me just "one small cap, one big cap, and a chair"
To which the reply was, "No, dude, I'm selling it as a whole, get out of here' LOL, denied!

Great con and a chance to meet the Marauder.
-
great haul my man.
-
Love that Deadpool with Maurauder John's stuff. I too, picked up some nice pieces from Maurauder. His stuff was absolutely awesome.

Anyone check out the thread on the COIL?
The guy DuneEcho says he can't find his con set?!?!?!!!
That has got to be the worst news!!!!!

There was a mistake run with 2008 instead of 2009. Guessed I grabbed the wrong card for the pic.

I saw that. I hope everything turns out okay and the set shows up.

Back-Stop's card was a "freebie" card that my printer was giving me - problem is, he only gave me about an hour to get one into him - so I rushed one out, front and back and mailed it. Two days later I re-looked at the art and saw the 2008 date. I messed up.
So - it's our first ERROR card. A corrected one WILL be made and will be available at some point this year - as will cards #11,12,15,16,18,20.
If you purchased the VIP entry - use your Lanyard tag as the Title card for your card set!

As always...I had a great time. A big thanks to Mike and the Staff for putting on an awesome show. A great thanks to everybody who showed up and made a great it a great show for the dealers as well....Wish I'd have been able to partake in more of the day's events...but setting up as a dealer I was just as happy to leave with less stuff and more money that I arrived with.
Can't wait to see how the show grows next year.
Edit...After unpacking my car I took a pic of my Haul from this year....Notice a pattern? I'm still a little sad about leaving the box for the Tiger Shark...but it was beat, wrecked, and had black mold, and I'd had enough border crossing troubles...no need to add a box that should be quarantined.

Does anyone have pics from the Speed Painting contest? My camera was either set wrong or just didn't like the light so everything came out fuzzy. I also forgot to take pictures of the winners (both the winning customs and the people responsible for them). Any help is appreciated.
-
sorry man i passed out for the painting contest. 8)
-
Dang, I was hoping to see that winning entry again. Amazing that someone had not only the time to do a great paint job, but also add freakin camo to his figure too.
-
Does anyone have the story behind those black and gold cobra troopers? I picked up one of em two, and I couldn't get much info out of the seller. Unproduced factory stock or bootlegs?
-
Bootlegs. We'll leave it at that.

Denise does. I'll yank them off her camera tomorrow and add them.
...and since others are posting images in this thread, I just went ahead and changed the title to reflect that.

We "totally' should of gotten stickers like that made for the boxes!
-
there is still time, make them a promotion at the next con, two peats and all that, :)
Man, that is a great haul, blue trubble bubbles, eh? To each his own, I always wanted black, but then I painted one black, it went badly.
I also didn't realize the skar had a chainsaw, freaky.

Poor Blay, he could not get away. .. channeling roadblock there.
-
xhairs, I am impressed. People have the hardest time taking pictures of the HATE. It reflects light so absolutely that flashes are a problem and so are rooms so bright that you don't need a flash.
thanks my man. it was very hard for sure. but well worth it. cmderinchief great pics man. and the guy next to mark was CC lol.
Heh....yeah, that was said in jest. Yeah, I knew that was CC. He was also my roommate. ;)
-
