nice. Just curious what use does a crimson army really have? As in how would they be used in the joe-verse? It still looks sweet. Does your army include anyone who has a dominant red color?
-
Realy nice and a great idea. I never tought to regroup all my Crimson figures together.
The AVAC, Bootleg troopers and Red Laser fit very well with others.
I realy like your army :)

The Crimson team is a highly trained army... and they need to be well prepared to fight... my night force team

I started that few months ago... I'm really happy with the results. Now I have to take pictures of my grey, black and blue armiesĀ ;D

- 1998 Viper Officer x 5

Lookin' good. That organization is enough to make Command and Conquer proud.
Too bad there's always different shades of blue. Wish they'd have settled on a formula and stuck with it...
Nevertheless, pretty spiffy

I don't understand either... even Cobra commander has his light blue and dark blue outfit.
It's like GI Joe's green. The VAMP, MMS, APC, AWE, Skyhawk, etc. They all have different shade of green.

Very Nice idea, this reminds me of a conversation we had earlier when we met on the boards, and I'm glad that it finally came to fruition with these pictures.
I remember also telling you not liking the grey Headhunter bats because I found they didn't go with many of my Cobra forces, but now I see how they can look just as good with the grey vipers and the right amount of troops.
You now need Blue BATS ( It would be cool if they make them!!! ) just so that they can motivate your blue Vipers and prevent them from deserting the battlefield, yep that's what BATS are best known for.
You could get a couple of TRAHC blue Undertows to go with your blue Hydrofoil, they just seem like the natural choice of blue frogmen.
Are you intending to have same single characters in all of your factions ( Ex: blue Firefly, red Firefly, grey Firefly )?
Or does each team have their unique commanders and specialists?
-
Nice. Are all those original colours or are they custom? Because I don`t recongnize some, but I`m fairly new and don`t know all the special packs.
-
No customs there, but a bunch of convention figures that you might not be familiar with, such as the red vipers or the gray bats.

Raptor is right, no customs there... except for the Blue Hydrofoil (there is a convention Blue deck Hydrofoil, but mine is painted blue)
There are 3 "rare" type of figs, most in the Crimson side:
- Red Laser (like a Crimson Cobra commander)... from the UK Action Force
- Convention figs (like 2002 Crimson set: Baroness, Tomax, Xamot, Vipers or the 2008 Grey BATS)
- Repro soldiers from China (not Hasbro legit figs): Crimson trooper, White Trooper, etc.
Enjoy!

So how about answering my questions too Martin? :oFor once you got me interested in your army building activities...I feel cast aside

Most of my GI Joes are placed in stairs, so I can see them better. But my Cobra, since I have many of each, I don't care displaying them in action.

The grey BATs fit pretty well with my other grey army builder. Also, they all have orange and grey... ???

Not sure about the Blue BATs... But maybe a all Black and grey BATs (like the ROC EELs) should look cool! One blue character I would love to have is a Blue Female Trooper (like the 2007 Night Stalkers Shock Troops). 8)

Maybe a good Idea, but I'm not a fan of this character... Maybe if I see one in my hands one day...

I only collect the one I like. So, I don't need a Red Firefly (or its arctic version). In fact, they look strange IMO...
So Storm Shadow leads my Arctic troops... not because he looks like an Arctic trooper, but because he is white (at least for now :shifty:

In case you are looking for Crimson Vipers... I have 7 for sale ;D
Tell you what. If I happen to be looking for bloody Vipers ( to be used as casualties of a gruesome battle against Tiger Force on a battlefield ), you'll hear from me in no time ;D!
You got a PM regarding your items for sale...

What the quality like on the white guys? I haven't bought any yet but I have the other guys as well as the dessert figures. The dessert figures have a problem with the left knee where the plastic doesn't match up and there is a gap. Anything like that with the white ones?

- The legs can't stay together (like the 2006 Viper Pit). Look at my picture of White troopers, the last one at the right. His legs don't stay together.
- They can't stand straight up. But it is maybe something with the O-ring... too tight or put too deep in their torso (I will need to open them).
- Their elbow rivest is deeper, making it looks strange.
- Their feet and back holes are smaller. I was planning giving my white soldiers the 1985 Snow Serpent snow shoes... but it doesn't fit.
The one we got at the Canadian con (Crimson, Black and Tan) were better in quality (elbow, regular feet holes, legs). These are from 2 different guys using different mold.

I have a handful of the white bootlegs. The only problem I have with them is the o-ring. It's tight. This is the reason why the legs can't stay together or stand up straight. Just take the o-ring out and leave it on the fat end of a screwdriver to stretch out the rubber. I did this for a couple of figures and problem solved, including the Pit Vipers.
The quality of the bootlegs is very good.
By the way, nice set ups there Martin.

Nice collection!

I'm still not a fan of crimson vipers, but your black army definitely looks superior with the Hailstorm. Now you're only missing that they make an electric blue or a white firebat...Cross your fingers.
