Title: Hasbro cancels the wave 3 Alpha Vehicles from the Rise of Cobra line
Post by: bandonov on March 21, 2010, 11:01:53 PM: This has been posted on GI Joe site south of the boarder and I was wondering if anyone here is disappointed about the news? Of the four vehicles 3 were repaints of already released from wave 1. The only new vehicle would have been the Polar Sharc, which would have been nice to have so it could battle the Cobra Mantis Attack vehicle.

Because first they were being released first quarter, then they were cancelled, then they were just delayed until later in the year. So are they cancelled for sure again?

The Volcano Viper is incredibly cool, but does not fit into the Lava Pod!!!

That is will the figure fully load with his equipment, how about when he is not? How much did you have to remove to make him fit?

Post by: NeoDragonKnight on June 30, 2010, 09:30:26 AM: I gave a bunch of the Alpha vehicles and random figures to my niece and nephew, and I found that I had a hard time making a lot of the figures fit in many of the vehicles. Especially with figures with poor waist/upper leg articulation. Ditto the gunships troop carrier port, the figures were a bitch to get in if at all.

You have to remove everything including his coat. He looks FUGLY without it. His neck is unhuman.

I will have to put another figure in the Lava Pod instead.

It's fantastic! It reminds me of those drill tanks from TMNT.

I'm gonna be starting up my website again and I thought I'd do a story revolving around one of the Joes stealing one and infiltrating an underground Cobra operation.

I also picked up a Pit Commando today. (the Steel Brigade helmet sold me on him) I'm really happy that there are new figures that aren't just remakes of old characters. I love the nostalgia and everything, but I've got a ton of Destro and Snake Eyes figures and am happy to have new characters to complement them. Volcano Viper is one of them.
