Talking to a pal of mine today and it came up on which character I liked the most from the Canuck-Verse characters.
So, let me know who you like - and why? Also let me know who you like the least - or downright hate.
And, I don't just mean the looks of the character, I mean - overall. The bio, look, etc.
JOE CANUCK
BLACK ICE
SHIVER
TIMBIT
SNOWBANK
CHACAL NOIR
FROSTBACK TROOPER
BACK-STOP not ncluded as he's "technically" owned by Hasbro. ;-)
...and keep in mind - CHARACTER... Not vehicle. ;-)
-
I like them all (even snackpack!), but chacal noir maybe the most, the bio is fabulous making him a lower-ranking almost lousy enemy and the parts really work together. I think Snowbank's got some serious potential to develop. From last year's comic, sounded like his suit was the prototype for Black Ice's, which sounds like a cool story to know. The army builder joe canuck rangers are cool. The civilian Timbit, interesting to me. These guys need the 25th treatment, which I'm discovering is not an easy task to do faithfully.
-
figure wise, i like Timbit the least because he has such a fugly head. i like Joe Canuck the most.
otherwise, i like Joe Canuck the most. i love the fact you started off with a generic army-builder-esque figure...
(although i do think the name 'joe canuck' seems vaguely insulting...)
-
Chacal all the way. I love that he's just a dude doing his job. That Larry Hama guy could go far doing this kind of stuff.
-
-
Black Ice, y'all. The name is striking, the figure is fantastic, and he marked a huge leap for the JoeCon.
-
Snowbank is my favourite character. I could kind of see him as the Master Chief of the Joe Canuck-verse. It was really great of Larry Hama to lend his time to write Snowbank's filecard, too. A blessing.
-
FROSTBACK TROOPER is the best because you can do anything with this figure! He can have any personality since it is a trooper, there are many of them! It can be changed to fit the story need. Plus he looks amazing!
-
My vote goes to (insert drum roll)................Joe Canuck since i have one of the originals.
-
Snowbank definitely tops my list. When he was announced, I remember beeing all excited because of the great figure parts he was made of (Techno Viper torso) and that discreet but prestigious Canadian sigle on his torso. I remember going nuts over the artwork when he was first announced on the boards, and beeing the last one to get my hands on the figure at the Convention the year he was the exclusive, I consider this one to be my greatest acquisition. I then fell in love with the bio which totally made me like the figures' suit even more.
-
JoeCanuck and BlackIce, though Shiver has grown on me.
-
Like the most: Snowbank. I think he has a ton of potential, but needs more characterization. The figure looks great- very unique. Great accessories too.
Like the least: Timbit. I guess because he wasn't made from Joe parts I'm biased. Plus he is a little bit of a joke, though I realize that people take their coffee seriously!
Appreciate the most(?): I think Chacal Noir has a great backstory and fits in with 'Canadiana' well. The figure is a little plain, the character a little mundane, but someone I still really like him as a 'Joeverse' piece.
-
My fave would be Joe Canuck, because he's the original, a cool figure, AND the first custom I ever attempted. 2nd fave would be Snowbank just because I really like the way he looks. Though if they're ever made an official part of the JC Universe the Canuckleheads could rank pretty high up there! ;D

Black Ice
The dye job on him is really striking.
-
Favorite: H.A.T.E. T...
...and keep in mind - CHARACTER... Not vehicle. ;-)
D'oh!
Favorite: Black ice
O-ring dark fig and his name represents him very well
Last favorite: Timbit
Each time I see him, it reminds me too much the Duke of hazzards...

Black Ice. Gorgeous figure making refreshing use of an incredibly oversaturated figure's parts, along with an unexpected head/torso combo.
Not to mention he was the first of its kind.
And hell, he's the only one I actually own (which reminds me, I still need to make a ROC version of the guy!).
-
Just looking at it as a toy then Shiver. I like the way the Desert Scorpion head worked as a whited helmet.
One I dislike the most is Timbit. Just doesn't fit standing next to the rest of the guys.
-
Im going to echo the sentiment with Timbit, even when I was working on my 25th version of him, I hated doing it, because I just didn't get him, or what he was suppose to be.
-
Wow so many poeple hating on poor Timbit. :o Does anyone like him?
-
I never said I hate Timbit. I just think it's fitting that he wear a red shirt.

Okay, I will correct my statement.
Wow so many poeple do not like poor Timbit. Does anyone like him?

Timbit was a joke figure guys. Just something PURE Canadian. His bio says he's driver that delivers coffee and donuts to the Canucks. Simple as that.... and I think I made him Back-Stops cousin or something?
In the coming weeks I'll be working on the Wiki (down right now) and posted all the bios on there. ;-)

And I remember that you even announced that he was to be a joke figure in a newsletter prior to the 2008 Joe convention....so you're backed-up .
-
Look at it this way.... the other figure you guys got was Snowbank, written by Larry Hama. That should cancel out Timbit right there.
-
Would be funny if someone killed off Timbit in the contest and we all voted for it ;D ;D
-
I like Timbit! Granted the figure wasn't great, but the art and concept I like. With the vest, he reminds me of the character in Back to the Future.
-
I think that Timbit was the only figure that anyone ever asked if they could return at the convention. ;-)

-
Nope. Someone returned a Black Ice figure also..... as strange as that sounds.
...and, if you remember, shortly before I closed the store, someone "sold back" a JoeCanuck figure - which was used as a door price at the 2007 JoeMeet
-
I'm gonna have to say Black Ice.
-
My favorite is the Frostback Trooper because he drives he drives the H.A.T.E..
-
Black Ice for me.... I want that figure badly.. :'(
As for Timbits, well I already have his twin brother Bo Duke!
-
Snowbank, simply because his existence was largely inspired by my very first custom, Stealth Viper.
-
Frostback trooper... Very well done simplistic color change, drives the HATE. Would love to see pictures of all the previous Con Figures.

Black Ice is my favourite. This a cool figure and i hope to see a remake in 25th style!
