I was just wonder is anyone know what the most expensive 80's Joe figure is? Seems the 82 Snake Eyes is up there and wondering why since it is just one color.
-
I would think it would be one of the figures with the hard to find accessories.
Lift Ticket
Heavy Metal
Hardtop
etc.

In no specific order, I would say:
- http://www.yojoe.com/action/87/starduster.shtml (http://http://www.yojoe.com/action/87/starduster.shtml)
- http://www.yojoe.com/action/87/hardtop.shtml (http://http://www.yojoe.com/action/87/hardtop.shtml)
- http://www.yojoe.com/action/83/viperpilot.shtml (http://http://www.yojoe.com/action/83/viperpilot.shtml)

It's not just the number of colors. It is:
- How often that character was in the comics/TV show?
- What people in general think of that character (Snake Eyes is usually in the cool gang, not my favorite, but still cool!)?
- Was it hard to find him (like a mail-in)?
- Does it have hard to find accessories (mic, pistol, knife, antenna, etc.)?
- Is it hard to find him in good shape now (like the Viper pilot with a perfect Cobra logo)?
- Etc.

what about pimp daddy destro? I seem to recall someone on yo-joe, years ago offer one up at around $2500 US. Was for serious collectors only. Not sure if it sold, I just remember getting a mail for it on the old yahoo yojoe mailing list.

The Gold Head version of Pimp Daddy Destro and the Yellow suit version of Sgt. Stalker are very expensive, but these guys are focusing on Vintage Joes...

i would have to say the gold head steel brigade figure, and the 92 ninja viper, seem to command a premium.

So was I. Except it was from '97. That's vintage enough for me.

I would agree with Heavy Metal and Hard Top from this list. I've never really watched a Lift Ticket auction before.

If a Gold Head Steel Brigade is available mint/complete, it will go for more than a Hard Top or Heavy Metal, without a doubt.

SDCC PDD was actually an homage to the uber rare real PDD back in the late 90s. Great read about it here:

thats why I love my SDCC gold PDD so much :)

Boy do I need to read up on my GI Joe history on figures...

Booo! I have a Heavy Metal with mic along with with a Mauler still sealed in the baggie (tape wore off so the box is now open).
Way to burst my bubble there Ed! :(
Just kidding. I really don't care that much. The question is, what's it worth to you, the owner.
-
The vintage line stopped at 1994 for me. From that time period, the Gold head Steel Brigade figure was the most expensive 3 3/4 domestic figure (for me) to buy on the secondary market.
Heavy Metal and Hard Top's accessories are not even the most expensive ones to get. The Roadblock launcher in 1993 (the one that was re-called) costs more to get.
Pimp Daddy Destro will always be a debate whether it should be part of the line. I think it should be. But others don't, mostly because they don't own one. :shifty:
More info about PDD can be found here: http://sites.google.com/site/projectpdd/ (http://sites.google.com/site/projectpdd/)

I was curious and did a search and found someone asking $600 for Hardtop. Not sure if they would get it http://cgi.ebay.ca/AFA-U85-G-Joe-Hasbro ... 563bdac915 (http://cgi.ebay.ca/AFA-U85-G-Joe-Hasbro-1987-HardTop-w-Gun-Red-Filecard-/370371381525?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item563bdac915)

Most expensive would be the Gold Head Steel Brigade, then not far behind would be Starduster, Heavy Metal with mic, Ninja Viper and Create a Cobra.

Guy has been trying to sell that one forever. It's priced so high due to the ripoff "AFA Grading" which is a joke.

I am happy to have bought GH Steel Brigade and Ninja Viper from Hasbro back in 1993 but honestly I would rather have older more common figures like swivel arm versions of series 1 figures and some guys like Heavy Metal et al. Not that I am unloading my valuable figures, I just don't see that they should be worth so much, both are rather ugly.

Yep, same opinion here buddy. That Gold Head SB figure is one of the ugliest figure in the vintage line IMO. Now I'm searching for a MISbaggie Lift Ticket w. his mic......tough task!! :(

I never understood wanting in a baggie. I like to be able to touch the toy. I guess I understand carded igures because the art may be nostalgic, but I never got the 'MISbaggie". Don't see the appeal justifying the cost.
...but I agree that GHSB is UGLY!!!!

Just to be sure that the mic is the real one.. I have several Lift Ticket figures already so I don't need to touch them all

Got it! Good luck with the search!
